‘चमत्कार चिंतामणि’ के लेखक नारायण भट्ट तथा जीवनाथ ने यहाँ बुध होने के फल का लगभग एक ही तरह से वर्णन किया है। उनका कहना है कि जिस व्यक्ति के लाभ स्थान यानी ग्यारहवें घर में बुध न हो, उसे द्रव्य लाभ कहाँ से होगा? उसमें सौंदर्य कहाँ से होगा और कर्ज से मुक्ति कहाँ से मिलेगी? उसकी कन्या के विवाह में दहेज देने के लिए सामग्री कहाँ से प्राप्त होगी? उसके घर ब्राह्मण आकर भोजन करके कैसे संतुष्ट हो सकेंगे?
कहने का मतलब यह है कि यहाँ बुध होने से इन सभी चीजों के लिए उस व्यक्ति को शुभ प्रभाव मिलता है। यानी ग्यारहवें स्थान में बुध होगा तो उस व्यक्ति के लिए ये सभी सुख अच्छी मात्रा में प्राप्त होने की संभावना रहती है।
कुछ लोगों का मत है कि यहाँ बुध होने से व्यक्ति को अपने मित्रों से बहुत लाभ होता है तथा उसके मित्र अच्छे लोग होते हैं। यदि हम ध्यान से देखें तो यह बात पूरी तरह से ठीक प्रतीत नहीं होती। क्योंकि इस स्थान में बुध अपने शत्रु ग्रह मंगल की राशि में बैठा है, जिसके कारण बुध में दूसरों के संबंधों के बारे में कुछ कमी आने की संभावना रहती है। वह लोगों में बहुत ही प्रिय हो, यह जरूरी नहीं है।
मैं यह जरूर मानता हूँ कि यहाँ बुध होने से उस व्यक्ति को अच्छे मित्र भी मिल सकते हैं। लेकिन ज्योतिषी काटवे के अनुसार बुध और मंगल का किसी भी तरह का संबंध व्यक्ति का संपर्क ऐसे लोगों से भी करवाता है, जिनकी मित्रता के कारण उस व्यक्ति का काफी कीमती समय नष्ट होने की संभावना रहती है।
बुध एक संगति-प्रधान ग्रह होने के कारण ग्यारहवें घर में जातक के संगति जीवन को किसी-न-किसी पक्ष में खराब करने की संभावना पैदा करता है।
प्राचीन ज्योतिषी श्री गोलप का मत है कि यहाँ पर बुध व्यक्ति को तेजस्वी, सद्गुणी, पंडित तथा श्रेष्ठ पुरुष बनाता है। यवन मत के अनुसार यहाँ का बुध व्यक्ति को समझदार और राजा का प्रिय बनाता है।
वास्तव में यह भाषा प्राचीन समय की है। यदि आज के संदर्भ में देखें तो यह वर्णन काफी हद तक ठीक लगता है। क्योंकि यहाँ पर बैठा हुआ बुध विद्या के क्षेत्र के लिए अच्छा है और मिथुन लग्न वालों के लिए मंगल की राशि में बैठने से जातक को अपनी बात को ठीक ढंग से और जोरदार तरीके से कहने का सलीका भी देता है।
इसलिए ऐसा व्यक्ति अपने से बड़े लोगों से इस ढंग से बात करता है कि उससे उन लोगों में प्रिय होने या सम्मान प्राप्त करने की संभावना रहती है।
कुछ ग्रंथकारों ने यहाँ के बुध को मीठा बोलने वाला यानी उसकी वाणी में मिठास रखने वाला बताया है। यह बात बहुत सीमित हद तक ही ठीक प्रतीत होती है। कारण यह है कि मिथुन लग्न वालों के लिए बुध मंगल की राशि मेष में है। इसलिए वह अपनी बात ठीक ढंग से कहता जरूर है और उसमें सत्य भी होता है, लेकिन बड़ी मात्रा में मिठास हो, यह जरूरी नहीं है।
गुस्से के कारक मंगल का कुछ प्रभाव उसमें जरूर आ जाता है। इसीलिए किसी विषय पर बात करते-करते कभी-कभी अचानक गुस्सा आ जाने की संभावना भी बनी रहती है। किसी बात से ऐसा व्यक्ति पूरी तरह सहमत न हो तो वह कभी-कभी झगड़ालू व्यक्ति जैसा व्यवहार भी कर सकता है।
यहाँ के बुध के बारे में बहुत से ग्रंथकारों ने आमतौर पर शुभ फल ही कहे हैं। लेकिन 1952 वाली नई लाल किताब में यहाँ के बुध की परिभाषा देते हुए कहा गया है कि ऐसा व्यक्ति जन्म से ही दौलतमंद होगा, किंतु उस व्यक्ति के फैसले, काम अथवा उसकी की हुई कोशिशें उसकी चौंतीस वर्ष की आयु तक पूर्ण रूप से फल नहीं दे पाएँगी।
इसीलिए कहा गया है कि चौंतीस वर्ष से पहले यह बुध ‘उल्लू का पट्ठा’ जैसे शब्दों में वर्णित किया गया है। मगर चौंतीस वर्ष के बाद यही बुध उस व्यक्ति के लिए हीरा बन जाएगा। यानी उसकी सफलता और उसके फैसलों पर चौंतीस वर्ष की आयु के बाद इसका बहुत शुभ प्रभाव देना शुरू होगा।
ग्यारहवें घर में स्थित बुध के अशुभ होने से उस व्यक्ति को पीठ में दर्द होने की संभावना हो सकती है। यदि ऐसा हो तो हम बुध के प्रभाव को अशुभ मानेंगे।
लाल किताब में उल्लेख आता है कि यह बुध चौंतीस वर्ष के बाद बहुत शुभ प्रभाव तो देता है, लेकिन जन्म से ही आयु के किसी भी हिस्से में यदि वह व्यक्ति किसी साधु, फकीर या ब्राह्मण आदि से कोई ताबीज लेकर पहन ले तो बुध का फल एकदम जल जाएगा। ताबीज पहनने या पास रखने से उस व्यक्ति का बुध बहुत मंदा हो जाएगा और उसे जड़ से उखाड़ने जैसा प्रभाव दे सकता है।
कहने का मतलब यह है कि ऐसा करने से बुध का प्रभाव बहुत ही मंदा हो जाएगा और व्यक्ति के अपने किए हुए फैसले ही उसकी बरबादी का कारण बन सकते हैं।
यहाँ यदि बुध मंदा हो तो उसके लिए सूर्य की मदद लेना अच्छा रहेगा। सूर्य की मदद लेने से मेरा मतलब है कि गले में तांबे का पैसा या तांबे का छोटा-सा टुकड़ा पहनना बुध के बुरे प्रभाव को कम कर सकता है। क्योंकि सूर्य बुध का मित्र है और उसकी धातु धारण करने से बुध को शक्ति मिलने की मान्यता है।
लाल किताब में ग्यारहवें घर में बुध होने से ताबीज पहनने के अशुभ प्रभाव के बारे में आगे और बारीकी से कहा गया है कि यदि किसी व्यक्ति की जन्म-कुंडली में बुध नौवें घर में हो और वह लाल किताब के वर्षफल के अनुसार ग्यारहवें घर में आ जाए, तो उस स्थिति में ताबीज लेना एक प्रकार से मृत्यु को ही बुलावा देने जैसा माना गया है।

Since Mercury is placed in the sign of its enemy, Mars, there is a possibility of some shortcomings in interpersonal relationships. It is not guaranteed that the person will be universally liked or popular.
Nevertheless, I do acknowledge that having Mercury here can indeed lead to the individual finding good friends.
