मिथुन लग्न वालों के लिए चौथे घर में बुध की अपनी ही कन्या राशि पड़ती है। इस तरह से बुध लग्नेश होकर सुख स्थान में बैठा है। इस घर में सम राशि में होने के कारण बुध के प्रभाव से व्यक्ति को भूमि भवन, सवारी तथा संपत्ति आदि का सुख मिलने की संभावना बहुत हद तक बढ़ जाती है। शारीरिक तौर पर भी व्यक्ति में एक तरह का आकर्षण होता है। यहाँ चौथे घर पर, काल-पुरुष कुंडली के अनुसार चंद्रमा का अधिकार है और लाल किताब के अनुसार भी चौथे घर का कारक चंद्रमा है। इसलिए बुध जो एक सामाजिक ग्रह है, जिसका मेलजोल से सीधा संबंध है, उसका प्रभाव इस घर में और भी बढ़ जाता है और व्यक्ति के मन में मनोविनोद की इच्छा काफी बनी रहती है। यदि बुध पर मंगल जैसे ग्रह की बुरी दृष्टि न हो तो उसके जीवन में इस प्रकार के मौके जरूर आते हैं। लेकिन यहाँ एक बात ध्यान में रखने की है कि अपनी राशि में बैठा हुआ बुध यहाँ से अपनी सातवीं दृष्टि से दसवें घर को देखता है जो उसकी नीच की राशि है, इस कारण से पिता के लिए इसका असर साधारण ही रहता है, बल्कि माँ-बाप दोनों के लिए ही इसके शुभअसर में कमी आ जाती है। यहाँ पर चंद्रमा के पक्के घर में होने के कारण उस में यह भी कहा है कि इस घर में बुध होने से पैतृक धन नहीं मिल पाता। वास्तव में, यह विचार बहुत ठीक प्रतीत नहीं होता। हाँ, ये जरूर हो सकता है कि पिता के अपने कमाए हुए धन से उसके जीवन में कोई बहुत बड़ा योगदान न हो। लेकिन खानदानी जायदाद या धन जो पुरखों से चला आ रहा है उसमें इस प्रकार का अशुभ असर हो, ये ठीक प्रतीत नहीं होता । लगभग सभी ज्योतिष ग्रंथों में जिक्र आता है कि यहाँ बैठा हुआ बुध व्यक्ति को उसके अंतःकरण से शुद्ध बनाता है। इसके बारे में एक पुराने ज्योतिषी तथा ज्योतिष के महान् आचार्य वराहमिहिर के अनुसार यहाँ बैठा हुआ बुध व्यक्ति को पंडित बनाता है। इस बात को समझाने के लिए कुछ ज्योतिषियों को थोड़ी कठिनाई जरूर आती है। यहाँबैठा हुआ बुध अपनी ही राशि में होने के कारण बुद्धि में एक विशेष प्रकार का शुদ असर तो करता है और चंद्रमा के पक्के घर में होने से भी ठीक असर रहता है लेकिन बुध या चंद्रमा का पंडित होना या उसके अतःकरण का शुभ होना इसके बारे में हमे एक और हेतु की बात करनी चाहिए। अगर हम ध्यान से देखें तो काल-पुरुष कुंडली के कारण है कि किसी-न-किसी रूप में बहस्पति ग्रह का प्रभाव होने के कारण बुध में इस अनुसार कर्क राशि आती है। यहाँ पर बहस्पति उच्च का फल देता है। शायद यही प्रकार के आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान या विद्वान होने के अंश पैदा होना एक प्रकार से ठीक लगता है। इसी के बारे में पुराने ज्योतिषी वैद्यनाथ भी इस बात की पुष्टि करते हैं। उनका विचार है कि यदि बुध यहाँ बैठा हो तो उस व्यक्ति का ज्ञान शुद्ध होता है। यहाँ पर शुद्ध ज्ञान से भाव ये है कि बुध जो एक व्यापारिक चतुरता का कारक है, दूसरे घरों में वह एक बातूनी व्यक्ति होने का प्रभाव देता है. किंतु इस घर में आकर वह बहुत हद तक संजीदा हो जाता है। इसीलिए उसका अंतर्ज्ञान बहुत हद तक शुभ हो जाता है, और उसकी करनी तथा कथनी में बहुत अंतर नहीं होता। शायद यही कारण है कि लान चंद्रिका नामक ग्रंथ में भी कहा गया है कि यहाँ बैठा हुआ बुध आदमी को कीर्तिमान बनाता है और वह सच बोलने वाला होता है। कुछ ज्योतिषियों ने इस घर में बुध होने से वाहन सुख का वर्णन किया है। इसके बारे में 'सारावली' नामक ग्रंथ में जिक्र आता है कि ऐसा व्यक्ति वाहनों का स्वामी होता है। इसी विचार को सन् 1750 के एक कश्मीरी ज्योतिषी जयदेव ने भी ग्रंथ जातक चंद्रिका में दोहराया है। उनके मत के अनुसार, ऐसा व्यक्ति वाहनों से युक्त होता है। ये बात ठीक है कि इस घर में बुध होने से आदमी के पास वाहन होने की संभावना बढ़ सकती है, किंतु यह कोई बहुत जरूरी नहीं है कि कम आयु से ही ऐसे व्यक्ति के पास वाहन हो। असल में, इस घर में शुक्र होने से कार या स्कूटर आदि की संभावना काफी बढ़ जाती है। मेरा अपना विचार है कि पुराने ग्रंथों में यहाँ वाहन से घोड़े का मतलब लिया था, कि उसके पास घोड़े होते हैं या उसको घोड़ों का सुख प्राप्त होता है। इसका कारण यह है कि लाल किताब के अनुसार काल-पुरुष कुंडली में चौथे घर का स्वामी चंद्रमा है और चंद्रमा घोड़े का कारक है। चौथे घर के चंद्रमा को दरियाई घोड़ा भी कहा है। इसलिए कुल-मिलाकर व्यक्ति को वाहन का सुख प्राप्त हो सकता है किंतु ये सुख उतना जरूरी नहीं लगता। आज के समयानुसार यह उतना युक्ति-संगत नहीं लगता जैसा कि प्राचीन ज्योतिषियों ने इसकी बात की है। चौथे घर का संबंध हमारे उस मकान से भी है जिसमें हम रहते हैं। पुराने ज्योतिषी गोलप के अनुसार ऐसे व्यक्ति को उत्तम घर में रहने का मौका मिलता है।  भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्योतिषी के अनुसार उत्तम घर में रहने से मतलब है कि उसका अपना घर होता है। वह घर व्यक्ति की अपनी इच्छानुसार सुसज्जित व अच्छा होता है। लेकिन ये तभी होता है जब यहाँ बुध के साथ कोई अशुभ ग्रह न हो। यदि बुध के साथ इस स्थान में शनि, राहु या केतु हों तो अच्छे घर में रहने का यह फल ठीक प्रतीत नहीं होता। शायद यही कारण है कि यवनमत के अनुसार यदि यहाँ बुध के साथ पाप ग्रहों का संबंध हो तो उस व्यक्ति को दूसरों के घर रहना पड़ता है। यहाँ दूसरों के घर में रहने से अर्थ किसी संबंधी के घर से ही नहीं है, बल्कि जीवन का बहुत-सा हिस्सा किराए के मकान में रहते ही व्यतीत हो जाता है। लाल किताब में चौथे घर में बैठे बुध को राजयोग कहा गया है। इसका कारण यह है कि लाल किताब के अनुसार चौथा पर चंद्रमा का है। शायद इसी वजह से चंद्रमा और बुध का आपसी संबंध होने से इसका फल इतना शुभ कहा गया है। लाल किताब के अनुसार चंद्र और बुध जब एक साथ हो, तो उसको माँ-बेटी कहा है। यानी दोनों का फल अशुभ नहीं होता। ये भी देखने में आता है कि यहाँ बुध होने से व्यक्ति दूसरे लोगों की मुसीबतें भी अपने सिर पर ले लेता है। ऐसी हालत में कई बार उसे उलझनों से गुजरना पड़ता है, लेकिन वह इस बात की कोई विशेष परवाह नहीं करता। क्योंकि, ऐसे व्यक्ति में मन का सब बहुत होता है और वह अपने किए हुए किसी नेक काम से मिलने वाले बुरे फल को लेकर कभी मन में पश्चात्ताप नहीं करता। लाल किताब के अनुसार यहाँ के बुध के फल को और भी शक्तिशाली बनाने के लिए आदमी को अपनी बहन के साथ अच्छा संबंध रखना चाहिए। दूसरा यहाँ पर बुध को ताकतवर बनाने के लिए चावल या दूध आदि किसी धर्म स्थान में देना भी उत्तम फल देगा। इस घर में बुध के साथ बृहस्पति का होना, बहुत अच्छा राजयोग है। लेकिन लाल किताब में ये शर्त जरूर है कि किसी हालत में इन पर अशुभ पह की दृष्टि न पड़ती हो। यदि यहाँ पर राहु की दृष्टि हो तो पिता या श्वसुर के स्वास्थ्य के लिए फल ज्यादा अच्छा नहीं रह पाता। यहाँ पर बुध के साथ सूर्य होने से अच्छा फल ही मिलता है। इससे व्यक्ति की कीर्ति और सम्मान बहुत होता है। इस घर में यदि बुध के साथ चंद्र हो तो इसे लाल किताब में अमोलक हीरा, धन-दौलत का गहरा दरिया कहा है और साथ में ये जिक्र भी आता है कि ये उस व्यक्ति की मन की शांति के लिए बहुत शुभ असर देता है। यहाँ बुध के साथ शुक्र का होना व्यापार के बारे में बहुत शुभ फल देता है। कई हालातों में मामा की ओर से भी सहायता मिलती है। आटा पीसने की चक्की या मिल आदि का काम उस व्यक्ति के लिए शुभ असर देता है। इस घर में बुध के साथ मंगल का होना शुभ असर नहीं देता। ऐसा व्यक्ति किसी का बुरा तो
