आषाढी एकादशी

आषाढी एकादशी, जिसे देवशयनी एकादशी भी कहा जाता है, एक महत्वपूर्ण हिंदू त्योहार है जो आषाढ़ माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि को मनाया जाता है। यह त्योहार भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित है और इसे बड़ी श्रद्धा और भक्ति के साथ मनाया जाता है। आषाढी एकादशी का महत्व: आषाढी एकादशी का हिंदू धर्म में विशेष महत्व है। यह दिन भगवान विष्णु के शयन का प्रतीक है, इसलिए इसे देवशयनी एकादशी कहा जाता है। मान्यता है कि इस दिन भगवान विष्णु चार महीने के लिए निद्रा में चले जाते हैं, जिसे चतुर्मास कहा जाता है। इन चार महीनों में कोई भी शुभ कार्य नहीं किया जाता है। आषाढी एकादशी की परंपराएं: आषाढी एकादशी के दिन भक्त उपवास रखते हैं और भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करते हैं। इस दिन विशेष रूप से पंढरपुर में विट्ठल मंदिर में भव्य उत्सव मनाया जाता है, जिसमें लाखों भक्त शामिल होते हैं। इस यात्रा को वारी कहा जाता है। भक्तजन भजन, कीर्तन और प्रवचन आदि में भाग लेते हैं।

Ashadhi Ekadashi, also revered as Devshayani Ekadashi, is a vital Hindu festival observed on the eleventh bright lunar day of the Ashadha month, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and marked with profound devotion; its significance lies in marking the commencement of Lord Vishnu's four-month sleep, the Chaturmas, during which auspicious activities are traditionally avoided; the primary traditions of this day involve devotees undertaking a fast and engaging in the worship of Lord Vishnu, with the most prominent observance being the grand pilgrimage, or Wari, to the Vitthal Temple in Pandharpur, attracting millions of devotees who participate in devotional singing (bhajans), religious discourses (kirtans), and spiritual talks (pravachans) as a testament to their faith and reverence.
