Victory to Batuk Bhairav, the remover of fear; victory to fierce Kal Bhairav, the powerful one.

Victory to the renowned Lord Bhairav, who grants happiness to all.

Bhairav, the form assumed by Lord Shiva, who removes the burdens of worldly existence.

Hearing Bhairav’s roar, all fears are dispelled, and all desires are fulfilled.

Even Sheshnag and Mahesh sing his praises; he is known as the Kotwal (guardian) of Kashi.

His matted hair shines with the moon, bells tied at his waist and hands.

Just seeing him removes all fear; he grants life to his devotees.

He resides on the tongue of Goddess Saraswati and Kali, and blesses and protects his devotees.

Glory, glory to Bhairav, the destroyer of fear, who holds the trident and drum.

His grace is immense and his fame endless; those who sing his fearless qualities

attain the eight siddhis and nine treasures, and are freed from suffering.

His terrifying red eyes destroy all pain; he roams with ghosts and spirits.

He chants “Ban Ban Ban,” along with Shiva’s name, and is the beloved of Goddess Kali.

He is even greater than Mahakal; Batuk Nath is the great and profound form of time itself.

He appears in white, red, and black forms, illuminating all three worlds.

He blesses his devotees with auspicious desires; he sits on a jewel-studded golden throne.

Clad in tiger skin and pure ornaments, he is worshipped by devotees in Kashi.

Those who meditate upon him in Kashi receive the vision of Lord Vishwanath.

Victory to the Lord who destroys all, son of Uma; victory to the supreme Lord.

Victory to fierce Bhairav, companion of dogs; victory to the protector of all beings.

Victory to Baijnath, Jagannath, and the mighty Rudra form.

Victory to the calm yet powerful Lord; victory to the ruler of all directions and time.

He protects the helpless and holds the universe in his hands.

He destroys evil and grants auspicious results; he removes obstacles and sorrow.

He is the king of ghosts and spirits, the remover of all difficulties.

He fulfills all wishes and grants blessings.

Those who recite this Chalisa with devotion and love one hundred times
