एक महिला किराने की दुकान पर ख़रीदी करने के लिए गई। साथ में छोटा बच्चा भी था।जब महिला खरीददारी कर रही थी- तब उसका बालक व्यापारी के सामने,उनको देख-देखकर हंस रहा था। व्यापारी को बालक निर्दोष हंसमुख और ख़ूब-ख़ूब प्यारा लग रहा था। उसे ऐसा लग रहा था कि इस बालक की हँसी उसके पूरे दिन की थकान उतार रही है।व्यापारी ने उस नन्हें से बालक को अपने पास बुलाया, बालक जैसे ही व्यापारी के पास आया।
उसने नौकर से चॉकलेट का डिब्बा मँगवाया और डिब्बा खोल कर उसे बालक की तरफ आगे किया-ओर बोला- बेटा !! तुझे जितनी चोकलेट चाहिए,तू उतनी इस डिब्बे में से ले ले।
बालक ने उसमें से चॉकलेट लेने से मना कर दिया। व्यापारी बालक को बार-बार चॉकलेट लेने को बोलता रहा और बालक ना करता रहा।बालक की माता दूर खड़ी यह पूरा घटनाक्रम देख रही थी।
थोड़ी देर के बाद व्यापारी ने ख़ुद डिब्बे में हाथ डाला और मुठ्ठी भरकर चोकलेट बालक को दी बालक ने दोनों हाथ का खोबा बनाकर व्यापारी द्वारा दी गई चोकलेटों को ले लिया और व्यापारी का आभार मानते हुए वह उछलते कूदते माँ के पास गया।
दुकान में से ख़रीदारी करने के बाद माँ ने बालक से पूछा- बेटा !! तुझे जब अंकल जी चोकलेट लेने का बोल रहे थे, तब तू चोकलेट क्यों नहीं ले रहा था?
लड़के ने ख़ुद के हाथ को आगे बढ़ाते हुए कहा- देखो माँ !! अगर मै ने मेरे हाथ से चॉकलेट ली होती तो मेरा हाथ तो बहुत छोटा है,फिर तो मेरे हाथ में बहुत कम चोकलेट आती ना? परंतु चाचाजी का हाथ बड़ा था- जब उन्होंने दी तो ढेर सारी चोकलेट आयी और मेरा पूरा खोबा भर गया!
हमारे हाथ से ऊपर वाले के हाथ बहुत बड़े हैं और उनका दिल भी बहुत बड़ा है।इसलिए उनसे माँगने के बजाय वो क्या देने वाले हैं वह उन पर छोड़ दीजिए।
अतः हम स्वयं अगर कुछ भी लेने या मांगने जाएँगे,तो छोटी सी मुट्ठी ही भर पायेंगे !! अर्थात अपनी हैसियत से ही मांगेगे। परंतु जब ईश्वर के ऊपर छोड़ेंगे तो हमारा पूरा खोबा भर जाएगा अर्थात वो अपनी हैसियत से देंगे उन्हें पता है कि हमारी पात्रता व हमारा पात्र कितना बड़ा है और हमारी आवश्यकता क्या है।

A woman went to a grocery store to buy some items. She had her small child with her. While the woman was shopping, the little boy kept looking at the shopkeeper and smiling at him. The shopkeeper found the child very innocent, cheerful, and extremely adorable. He felt that the child’s smile was taking away the tiredness of his whole day.
The shopkeeper called the little boy to come closer. As soon as the child came near him, he asked his servant to bring a box of chocolates. He opened the box, held it out toward the boy, and said, “Son, take as many chocolates as you want from this box.”
But the child refused to take any chocolates. The shopkeeper kept encouraging him again and again to take some, but the boy kept saying no. The child’s mother was standing a little distance away and watching the entire scene.
After a while, the shopkeeper himself put his hand into the box, took a big handful of chocolates, and gave them to the child. The boy made a bowl with both his hands and happily accepted all the chocolates. Thanking the shopkeeper, he ran and jumped back to his mother.
After finishing the shopping and leaving the store, the mother asked her son, “Son, when uncle was asking you to take chocolates, why didn’t you take them?”
The boy stretched out his hand and said, “Look, Mom! If I had taken the chocolates with my own hand, my hand is so small that I would have gotten only a few chocolates. But uncle’s hand is much bigger. When he gave them to me, I got a lot of chocolates and my hands were completely full!”
Just like that, the hands of God are much bigger than ours, and His heart is also very big. So instead of constantly asking Him for things, leave it to Him to decide what He wants to give you.
Because when we ask for something ourselves, we can only ask according to our limited capacity — like filling a small fist. But when we leave it to God, He fills our whole bowl. He knows our worth, our capacity, and what we truly need.
