एक आदिवासी भक्त | A tribal devotee

      श्री अवध के सिद्ध संत श्री पंचारसाचार्य जी महाराज श्रीरामहर्षणदास जी महाराज जी के एक शिष्य है बाबा श्री रविशंकर शुक्ल (श्री रामदास जी)  जी । शाहनगर के पास कचौरी गांव मे उनकी थोड़ी खेती थी । 

उनके वहां एक आदिवासी व्यक्ति खेती की जुताई करने आता था । महाराज जी दोपहर को कुछ मजदूरों के लिए भोजन लेकर जाया करते थे । एक दिन जब वह खेत पर गए तो देखा की बगल के पानी के सरोवर मे वह आदिवासी व्यक्ति मछली पकड़ रहा था । महाराज उससे कुछ बोले नही । बस कहा की कल से यहां काम पर मत आना, कही और तुम्हारा काम लगवा दूंगा । 

उसने पूछा - महाराज ! मुझसे क्या गलती हो गयी? महाराज बोले की मै तुम्हारे लिए अच्छा सात्त्विक भोजन लाता हूं, फिर भी तुम मछली मारते हो, जीव हिंसा का पाप करने वाले को मै यहां नही रख सकता ।  उसने कहा - महाराज ! मै सत्य कहता हूं, अब कभी किसी जीव की हिंसा नही करूंगा । मुझे यही काम पर आने दीजिए । महाराज ने कहा ठीक है तुम्हे काम से नही निकलूंगा । फिर वह आदिवासी बोला - मेरे मन मे बड़ा दुख हो रहा है की मैने इतने पाप किए, आप मुझे इन पापो से मुक्त होने का मार्ग बताएं ? 

महाराज बोले तुम केवल 'सीताराम सीताराम' कहा करो । महाराज ने उसको भगवान के नाम का महात्म्य और नाम के प्रभाव की कुछ कथाएं सुनाई । बड़ा सीधा भोला था, उसने विश्वास कर लिया की नाम नही छोडूंगा । अब वह सीताराम सीताराम बोलता रहता । कुछ काल के बाद तो उसका मुंह हर समय हिलता रहता । नींद मे भी नाम चलता रहता । उसके पास माला तो थी नही, महाराज को देख देख कर वह भी अपनी उंगली हिलाता रहता । एक दिन उसको स्वप्न मे एक संत का दर्शन हुए, उन्होंने कहा की तुम सीताराम जपना छोड़ दो, नही तो तुम्हे बड़ा कष्ट होगा ।

उस व्यक्ति ने महाराज के पास जाकर सब बात बताई । महाराज बोले - यदि तुम्हे कष्ट नही सहन करना तो नाम छोड़ दो । उसने कहा की मै सीताराम जपना नही छोड़ सकता, मैने छोड़ दिया तो मर जाऊंगा । महाराज उसकी नाम निष्ठा देख कर प्रसन्न हुए और बोले नाम को पकड़े रहो । अब दूसरे दिन से ही उसके पैरों मे बहुत जलन होती थी । इतनी जलन की जल मे पैर डालकर बैठे तो गरम हो जाये । कुछ दिन के बाद उसके पैरों के नीचे के दोनो तलवो का चमड़ा निकल आया । तुम्हारे जन्म जन्मांतर का जो प्रारब्ध था वह इस सीताराम नाम ने निकाल दिया । लो भगवान का प्रसाद पाओ, ऐसा बोलकर स्वप्न मे उसको एक लड्डू दिया । स्वप्न मे दिया हुआ लड्डू प्रातःकाल मे प्रत्यक्ष उसके हाथ मे था । 

जैसे ही उसने प्रसाद पाया, उसका संसार से मन हट गया । अब उसका कही भी मन नही लगता था, घर का कामकाज छूट गया, केवल एक जगह बैठ कर घंटो नाम करता रहता । एक दिन पेड़ के नीचे नाम जप रहा था तब उसका शरीर छूट गया । आस पास के लोग जमा हुए, सकी उंगली हिल रही थी । लोगो ने सोचा उंगली हिलना बंद हो तब इसका शरीर जलाएंगे । उधर वह पहुंचा यमलोक मे, दिव्य सिंहासन पर यमराज बैठे थे । वहां पर भी उसका नाम चल रहा था । यमराज ने कहा - यमदूतों ! तुम किसी दूसरे व्यक्ति को लेकर आ गए । इसकी मृत्यु तो अमुक तिथि पर होगी । यह भगवान के साकेत लोक जाएगा, यह यहां नही आएगा । इसको वापस छोड़ आओ । 

उस व्यक्ति ने पूछा - यह कौनसी जगह है? यमदूतों ने बताया की यह यमलोक है, यहां कर्मो का लेखा जोखा होता है और पापियों को नरक मे यातनाएं दी जाती है । उनसे यमराज से कहा - मुझे एकबार नरक का दर्शन करना है । यमराज ने कहा - भगवान के नाम का जप करने वाले को नरक नही दिखाया जा सकता परंतु तुम भगवान के भक्त हो तो तुम्हारी इच्छा मै पूरी करूंगा । उसको नरक का दृश्य दिखा कर वापस छोड़ दिया गया । वह जीवित होकर बैठा और जाकर महाराज जी को सारी बात बतायी । उसने यह भी कहा - नरक की यातनाएं इतनी भयंकर है की मै कांप गया । उसने यमराज के मुख से सुनी हुई उसकी मृत्यु की तिथि भी बतायी । बोला की उस तिथि पर मेरा शरीर छूट जाएगा और मुझे भगवान का लोक प्राप्त होगा । ठीक उसी तिथि पर उसका शरीर छुटा और वह भगवान के धाम को चला गया ।..

Baba Shri Ravi Shankar Shukla (Shri Ramdas Ji) is a disciple of Shri Pancharasacharya Ji Maharaj, the accomplished saint of Awadh, Shri Ramharshan Das Ji Maharaj. He owned a small farm in Kachori village near Shahnagar.

A tribal man used to come to his farm to plow the fields. Maharaj Ji used to bring food for some laborers in the afternoon. One day, when he went to the field, he saw the tribal man fishing in the nearby pond. Maharaj Ji did not say anything to him. He simply said, "Don't come to work here from tomorrow; I will find you work elsewhere."

He asked, "Maharaj! What mistake have I made?" Maharaj replied, "I bring you good, sattvik food, yet you catch fish. I cannot keep someone who commits the sin of violence against living beings here." He replied, "Maharaj! I am telling the truth. I will never harm any living being again. Let me work here." Maharaj said, "Okay, I won't fire you." Then the tribal man said, "I feel very sad that I have committed so many sins. Can you please show me the way to free myself from these sins?"

The Maharaja said, "Just say 'Sita Ram Sita Ram.'" The Maharaja told him the greatness of God's name and some stories about its power. He was very simple and innocent, and he believed he would never give up the name. Now he kept saying Sita Ram Sita Ram. After some time, his mouth would move constantly. Even in his sleep, the name would continue. He didn't have a rosary, so he would keep moving his finger while looking at the Maharaja. One day, he had a vision of a saint in his dream. He told him, "Stop chanting Sita Ram, otherwise you will suffer great pain."

The man went to the Maharaja and told him everything. The Maharaja said, "If you can't bear the pain, then give up the name." He said, "I can't stop chanting Sita Ram; if I do, I will die." The Maharaja was pleased with his devotion to the name and said, "Hold on to the name." From the second day onwards, his feet burned intensely. It was so intense that sitting in water would make him feel hot. After a few days, the skin on both soles of his feet peeled off. "This Sita Ram name has removed the destiny of your past lives. Here, receive God's Prasad," he said, and was given a sweet in his dream. The sweet given in his dream was in his hand in the morning.

As soon as he received the Prasad, his mind drifted away from the world. He was no longer interested in anything, left his household chores, and would simply sit in one place and chant the name of the Lord for hours. One day, while he was chanting the name of the Lord under a tree, his body left his body. People gathered around him; his finger was moving. They thought they would cremate him only when his finger stopped moving. He reached Yamaloka, where Yamaraja was sitting on a divine throne. His name was being chanted there too. Yamaraja said, "O messengers of Yamaraja!" You brought someone else. He will die on a certain date. He will go to God's eternal abode; he will not return here. Please leave him back.

The man asked, "Which place is this?" The messengers of Yama told him that this is Yamaloka, where deeds are accounted for and sinners are tortured in hell. He told Yamaraj, "I want to see hell once." Yamaraj replied, "Hell cannot be shown to those who chant God's name, but since you are a devotee of God, I will fulfill your wish." He was shown the scene of hell and then released. He came back to life, sat up, and went and told Maharaj Ji everything. He also said, "The tortures of hell are so terrible that I tremble." He also told the date of his death, as he had heard from Yamaraj. He said, "On that date, I will leave my body and attain God's abode." On that very date he left his body and went to the abode of God.
