इस अलौकिक साम्राज्य की व्यवस्था और सेवा में भगवान के 96 करोड़ पार्षद तैनात हैं, जो रूप और स्वरूप में बिल्कुल नारायण के समान ही चतुर्भुज धारी और तेजस्वी हैं।
इस परमधाम में प्रवेश की प्रक्रिया अत्यंत पवित्र है। वैकुंठ की दहलीज पर विरजा नदी बहती है, जो भौतिक और आध्यात्मिक जगत के बीच की सीमा रेखा है।
जब कोई पुण्यात्मा यहाँ पहुँचती है, तो वह विरजा नदी में स्नान कर अपने सूक्ष्म शरीर और समस्त कर्मों का त्याग कर देती है और उसे एक दिव्य चतुर्भुज स्वरूप प्राप्त होता है। यहाँ भगवान विष्णु अपनी चार प्रमुख शक्तियों—श्रीदेवी, भूदेवी, नीला देवी और महालक्ष्मी के साथ आनंदपूर्वक निवास करते हैं, जहाँ न शोक है, न मृत्यु और न ही समय का प्रभाव।
वैकुंठ तक पहुँचने का मार्ग अत्यंत चुनौतीपूर्ण और जीवात्मा के धैर्य की परीक्षा लेने वाला होता है। जब आत्मा महाप्रस्थान करती है, तो उसे मार्ग में समय, प्रहर और मास के अधिपति देवताओं के साथ-साथ विभिन्न लोकों के देव मिलते हैं।
ये देव जीवात्मा के मार्ग में कई तरह के प्रलोभन, मायावी सुख और भय उत्पन्न करते हैं ताकि उसकी एकाग्रता भंग हो सके और उसे पुनः किसी योनि में वापस भेजा जा सके। लेकिन जो जीव केवल श्रीहरि के चरणों का ध्यान करता है और संसार की माया में नहीं उलझता, उसकी निष्ठा देख सभी देवता मार्ग छोड़ देते हैं और उसे विरजा नदी तक ससम्मान पहुँचाते हैं।

Vaikuntha Loka, situated at the summit of countless crores of universes, is the divine abode where Lord Shri Vishnu, the preserver of creation, Himself resides.
It is not merely a celestial realm, but the highest state of spiritual consciousness, attaining which is the ultimate goal of every devotee. According to cosmic positioning, it lies in the direction of the Capricorn sign, about 26.2 million yojanas above Satyaloka, where the laws of material nature do not apply. The greatest distinction of this divine realm is that it is not illuminated by the light of the sun or the moon; rather, the eternal radiance of the Lord’s own divine form continuously illuminates Vaikuntha.
The administration and service of this transcendental kingdom are carried out by 96 crore divine attendants, who are identical in form to Lord Narayana—four-armed, radiant, and supremely majestic.
The process of entering this supreme abode is extremely sacred. At the threshold of Vaikuntha flows the Viraja River, which serves as the boundary between the material and spiritual worlds.
When a virtuous soul reaches this point, it bathes in the Viraja River, thereby relinquishing its subtle body and all accumulated karmas, and attains a divine four-armed form. In this realm, Lord Vishnu resides blissfully with His four principal energies—Shri Devi, Bhu Devi, Neela Devi, and Maha Lakshmi—where there is no sorrow, no death, and no influence of time.
The path to Vaikuntha is extremely challenging and tests the patience and resolve of the soul. When the soul departs during the great journey after death, it encounters various deities who preside over time, phases of the day, months, and different realms.
These deities create many kinds of temptations, illusory pleasures, and fears along the way, attempting to disturb the soul’s focus so that it may be sent back into another form of existence. However, the soul that remains absorbed solely in the remembrance of the lotus feet of Lord Hari and does not become entangled in worldly illusion causes all the deities to step aside. Such a soul is then respectfully guided to the Viraja River.
