Kali Chaudas, also known as Narak Chaturdashi, is a Hindu festival celebrated on the fourteenth day of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the Ashwin month, just before Diwali. It's a day dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kali and Lord Yama, the god of death. The primary significance of Kali Chaudas is to ward off evil spirits, negative energies, and fear of death. People perform rituals to cleanse their homes and protect themselves from any malevolent forces. It's believed that on this day, Lord Krishna, along with Satyabhama, defeated the demon Narakasura, liberating thousands of imprisoned souls. Therefore, the festival also symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the removal of darkness.
