एक नगर में एक युवक रहता था। उसकी आदतें अच्छी नहीं थीं। वह चोरी करके अपना जीवन चलाता था। कई लोगों ने उसे समझाया, लेकिन उसकी आदत नहीं बदली। एक दिन वह एक संत के सत्संग में पहुँचा। संत के मुख से निकले ज्ञान के शब्द उसके हृदय को छू गए।
सत्संग समाप्त होने के बाद युवक संत के पास गया और बोला, "गुरुदेव, मैं चोरी करता हूँ। यह काम मैं तुरंत नहीं छोड़ सकता, लेकिन मैं आपके बताए मार्ग पर चलना चाहता हूँ। मुझे कोई ऐसा नियम बताइए जिसे मैं निभा सकूँ।"
संत मुस्कुराए और बोले, "यदि तुम सच में कुछ करना चाहते हो तो आज से हर स्त्री को माता या बहन के समान सम्मान देना।"
युवक ने वचन दे दिया और अपने जीवन में उस नियम को अपनाने का निश्चय कर लिया।
कुछ समय बाद एक रात वह चोरी के इरादे से एक बड़े घर में पहुँचा। वहाँ एक महिला अकेली रहती थी। युवक ने सोचा कि आज उसे बहुत धन मिलेगा। लेकिन जब उस महिला ने उसे देखा, तो उसने उसे अपने पास बुलाया और कहा, "यदि तुम मेरी एक इच्छा पूरी कर दो, तो मैं तुम्हें इतना धन दूँगी कि तुम्हें फिर कभी चोरी नहीं करनी पड़ेगी।"
युवक एक पल के लिए डगमगाया, लेकिन तभी उसे अपने गुरु का दिया हुआ वचन याद आ गया। उसने तुरंत हाथ जोड़कर कहा, "माता जी, मैं आपको अपनी माँ के समान मानता हूँ। मैं ऐसा कोई कार्य नहीं कर सकता जिससे मेरे गुरु का आदेश टूट जाए।"
महिला उसकी बात सुनकर भावुक हो गई। उसी समय घर के मालिक और कुछ लोग भी वहाँ आ गए, जो छिपकर सब देख रहे थे। उन्होंने युवक की सच्चाई और चरित्र की दृढ़ता देख ली थी।
उसने युवक को दंड देने के बजाय सम्मान दिया, काम दिया और उसे ईमानदारी से जीवन जीने का अवसर प्रदान किया। धीरे-धीरे युवक ने चोरी छोड़ दी और मेहनत के बल पर समाज में सम्मानित व्यक्ति बन गया।
एक दिन वह फिर अपने गुरु के पास पहुँचा और उनके चरणों में गिर पड़ा। उसकी आँखों में कृतज्ञता के आँसू थे। उसने कहा, "गुरुदेव, आपके एक छोटे से वचन ने मेरा पूरा जीवन बदल दिया।"
गुरु ने मुस्कुराकर कहा, "बेटा, सफलता बड़े उपदेशों से नहीं, बल्कि छोटे-छोटे अच्छे नियमों का पालन करने से मिलती है।"
शिक्षा
जीवन में यदि हम किसी श्रेष्ठ गुरु, माता-पिता या सज्जन व्यक्ति की एक अच्छी सीख को भी पूरी निष्ठा से अपना लें, तो हमारा भाग्य बदल सकता है। दृढ़ विश्वास, अच्छे संस्कार और सही मार्गदर्शन मनुष्य को अंधकार से निकालकर सफलता, सम्मान और सुख के शिखर तक पहुँचा देते हैं। 🌹

A Word from Sadguru 🍁
A young man lived in a town. He had bad habits and made a living by stealing. Many people tried to reason with him, but his ways did not change. One day, he attended a spiritual gathering (*satsang*) held by a saint. The words of wisdom spoken by the saint touched his heart.
After the gathering ended, the young man approached the saint and said, "Gurudev, I steal for a living. I cannot give up this habit immediately, yet I wish to follow the path you have shown. Please give me a rule that I can actually adhere to."
The saint smiled and said, "If you truly wish to make a change, then from this day forward, treat every woman with the same respect you would accord to a mother or a sister."
The young man gave his word and resolved to adopt this rule in his life.
Some time later, one night, he entered a large house with the intention of stealing. A woman lived there alone. The young man thought he would find a great deal of wealth there. However, upon seeing him, the woman beckoned him closer and said, "If you fulfill one wish of mine, I will give you enough wealth so that you never have to steal again."
The young man wavered for a moment, but then he remembered the vow he had made to his guru. He immediately folded his hands and said, "Mother, I regard you just as I do my own mother. I cannot commit any act that would violate my guru's command."
The woman was deeply moved by his words. At that moment, the owner of the house and several others—who had been watching the scene from hiding—stepped forward. They had witnessed the young man's honesty and the strength of his character.
Instead of punishing him, the owner honored him, gave him employment, and provided him with the opportunity to lead an honest life. Gradually, the young man gave up stealing and, through hard work, became a respected member of society.
One day, he returned to his guru and fell at his feet. There were tears of gratitude in his eyes. He said, "Gurudev, a single small word from you has changed my entire life."
The Guru smiled and said, "My child, success is not achieved through grand sermons, but by following simple, good principles."
Moral
If we sincerely adopt even one piece of good advice from an enlightened teacher, our parents, or a virtuous person, our destiny can change. Firm conviction, good values, and proper guidance lead a person out of darkness to the pinnacle of success, respect, and happiness. 🌹
