हनुमान जी और अहिरावण का अंत🍁
लंका का युद्ध अपने चरम पर था। रावण के अनेक योद्धा मारे जा चुके थे। जब रावण को लगा कि अब उसकी हार निश्चित है, तब उसने अपने मायावी भाई अहिरावण को याद किया। अहिरावण पाताल लोक का राजा था और तंत्र-मंत्र तथा मायावी शक्तियों में अत्यंत प्रवीण था।
अहिरावण ने रावण से कहा, "भाई, चिंता मत करो। मैं श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण को पाताल लोक ले जाकर उनकी बलि चढ़ा दूँगा।"
रात के समय जब पूरी वानर सेना सो रही थी, तब हनुमान जी भगवान श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण की रक्षा के लिए द्वार पर पहरा दे रहे थे। अहिरावण ने विभीषण का रूप धारण कर लिया और छलपूर्वक शिविर में प्रवेश कर गया। अपनी मायावी शक्ति से उसने सभी को गहरी नींद में सुला दिया और श्रीराम तथा लक्ष्मण को उठाकर पाताल लोक ले गया।
सुबह जब सभी जागे तो प्रभु को न पाकर हाहाकार मच गया। विभीषण ने तुरंत समझ लिया कि यह कार्य अहिरावण का है। उन्होंने हनुमान जी से कहा, "हे पवनपुत्र! केवल आप ही पाताल लोक जाकर प्रभु को वापस ला सकते हैं।"
हनुमान जी बिना देर किए पाताल लोक की ओर चल पड़े। मार्ग में उन्हें एक विशाल द्वार मिला, जिसकी रक्षा एक बलवान योद्धा कर रहा था। उसका नाम मकरध्वज था। उसने हनुमान जी को रोकते हुए कहा, "बिना युद्ध किए कोई अंदर नहीं जा सकता।"
दोनों के बीच भयंकर युद्ध हुआ। अंत में हनुमान जी ने उसे परास्त कर दिया। तब मकरध्वज ने बताया कि वह हनुमान जी का ही पुत्र है, जिसका जन्म समुद्र में गिरी उनकी पसीने की एक बूंद से हुआ था। हनुमान जी ने उसे आशीर्वाद दिया और आगे बढ़ गए।
पाताल लोक में पहुँचकर हनुमान जी ने देखा कि अहिरावण एक विशाल यज्ञ की तैयारी कर रहा है। श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण को बलि के लिए बाँधकर रखा गया था। विभीषण ने बताया था कि अहिरावण को मारने के लिए पाँच दिशाओं में जल रहे पाँच दीपकों को एक साथ बुझाना होगा, अन्यथा वह बार-बार जीवित हो जाएगा।
हनुमान जी ने तुरंत पंचमुखी रूप धारण किया। पूर्व दिशा में हनुमान मुख, पश्चिम में गरुड़ मुख, उत्तर में वराह मुख, दक्षिण में नरसिंह मुख और ऊपर की ओर हयग्रीव मुख प्रकट हुआ। पाँचों मुखों से एक साथ फूँक मारकर उन्होंने पाँचों दीपक बुझा दिए।
दीपक बुझते ही अहिरावण की मायावी शक्ति समाप्त हो गई। हनुमान जी ने अपनी गदा से उस दुष्ट राक्षस का वध कर दिया। पूरा पाताल लोक उनके जयघोष से गूँज उठा।
इसके बाद उन्होंने श्रीराम और लक्ष्मण को मुक्त कराया और उन्हें अपने कंधों पर बैठाकर सुरक्षित वापसलंका ले आए। पूरी वानर सेना आनंदित हो उठी और "जय हनुमान!" के नारे लगाने लगी।

Hanuman and the Demise of Ahiravan 🍁
The war of Lanka was at its peak. Many of Ravana's warriors had already been slain. Realizing that his defeat was imminent, Ravana summoned his brother Ahiravan, a master of sorcery and illusion. Ahiravan was the king of *Patala Loka* (the netherworld) and was highly skilled in occult arts and magical powers.
Ahiravan assured Ravana, "Brother, do not worry. I shall take Shri Ram and Lakshman to *Patala Loka* and offer them as a sacrifice."
One night, while the entire *Vanara* (monkey) army lay asleep, Hanuman stood guard at the entrance to protect Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman. Ahiravan assumed the guise of Vibhishan and deceitfully entered the camp. Using his magical powers, he cast everyone into a deep slumber, then abducted Shri Ram and Lakshman and carried them off to *Patala Loka*.
When everyone awoke in the morning and found the Lord missing, there was an outcry of panic. Vibhishan immediately understood that this was Ahiravan's doing. He said to Hanuman, "O Son of the Wind! Only you can go to *Patala Loka* and bring the Lord back."
Without delay, Hanuman set out for *Patala Loka*. On his way, he encountered a massive gate guarded by a mighty warrior named Makardhwaj. Stopping Hanuman, the warrior declared, "No one may enter without engaging in battle."
A fierce battle ensued between the two. Ultimately, Hanuman defeated him. Makardhwaj then revealed that he was Hanuman's own son, born from a single drop of Hanuman's sweat that had fallen into the ocean. Hanuman blessed him and proceeded further.
Upon reaching *Patala Loka*, Hanuman saw Ahiravan preparing for a grand *Yajna* (ritual sacrifice). Shri Ram and Lakshman had been bound in preparation for the offering. Vibhishan had previously explained that to kill Ahiravan, one had to simultaneously extinguish five lamps burning in five different directions; otherwise, he would keep coming back to life. Hanuman Ji immediately assumed the *Panchmukhi* (five-faced) form. The face of Hanuman appeared facing east, Garuda facing west, Varaha facing north, Narasimha facing south, and Hayagriva facing upwards. Blowing simultaneously from all five mouths, he extinguished the five lamps.
As soon as the lamps were extinguished, Ahiravan's magical powers vanished. Hanuman Ji slew the wicked demon with his mace. The entire netherworld (*Patala Loka*) resounded with cheers in his honor.
Thereafter, he liberated Shri Ram and Lakshman, placed them upon his shoulders, and brought them safely back to Lanka. The entire *Vanara* army rejoiced and began chanting,
"Jai Hanuman!"
