जब सब कुछ जल गया, तब कृपा बरस पड़ी🍁
संत नामदेव जी भगवान के ऐसे अनन्य भक्त थे, जिनका मन हर समय अपने ठाकुर जी के चरणों में लगा रहता था। संसार की वस्तुओं से उन्हें कोई विशेष मोह नहीं था। उनका विश्वास था कि जो कुछ भी है, वह सब प्रभु का दिया हुआ है और उसी का है।
एक दिन की बात है। नामदेव जी अपनी छोटी-सी कुटिया के बाहर विश्राम कर रहे थे। आधी रात का समय था। अचानक उनकी कुटिया में आग लग गई। देखते ही देखते लपटें आसमान को छूने लगीं। आसपास के लोग दौड़कर आए और चिल्लाने लगे, “नामदेव जी! आपकी कुटिया में आग लग गई है, जल्दी कुछ कीजिए!”
लेकिन नामदेव जी के चेहरे पर न चिंता थी, न घबराहट। वे शांत भाव से उठे और आग को निहारने लगे। उनके मन में एक अद्भुत भाव जागा। उन्होंने सोचा, “आज मेरे ठाकुर जी अग्नि के रूप में मेरे घर पधारे हैं। जब अतिथि घर आए तो उसे खाली हाथ कैसे जाने दूँ?”
यह सोचकर उन्होंने कुटिया के बाहर रखा अपना सामान उठाना शुरू कर दिया। जो बर्तन बाहर रखे थे, उन्हें भी आग में डाल दिया। जो कपड़े बचे थे, वे भी अग्नि को अर्पित कर दिए। लोगों ने यह दृश्य देखा तो हैरान रह गए।
एक व्यक्ति बोला, “अरे! ये क्या कर रहे हैं? जो बचा है, उसे तो बचा लीजिए।”
नामदेव जी मुस्कुराकर बोले, “जब सब कुछ प्रभु का है, तो उसे प्रभु को लौटाने में कैसी चिंता?”
लोगों ने बड़ी मेहनत से आग बुझाई, लेकिन तब तक कुटिया पूरी तरह जल चुकी थी। सभी लोग नामदेव जी को पागल समझते हुए अपने-अपने घर लौट गए।
उस रात नामदेव जी खुले आकाश के नीचे बैठकर प्रभु का नाम जपते रहे। उनके हृदय में तनिक भी दुःख नहीं था। वे बार-बार यही कहते, “हे प्रभु! आपकी जैसी इच्छा।”
कहते हैं कि भक्त के समर्पण से भगवान अत्यंत प्रसन्न होते हैं। नामदेव जी के निष्काम प्रेम और अटूट विश्वास को देखकर ठाकुर जी भी भाव-विभोर हो गए। उन्होंने सोचा, “मेरे इस भक्त ने बिना किसी शिकायत के अपना सर्वस्व मुझे समर्पित कर दिया। अब इसकी परीक्षा पूरी हुई।”
प्रातःकाल जब गाँव वाले वहाँ पहुँचे तो आश्चर्य से उनकी आँखें खुली रह गईं। जहाँ रात को जली हुई कुटिया थी, वहाँ अब एक अत्यंत सुंदर और दिव्य कुटिया खड़ी थी। उसकी शोभा देखते ही बनती थी।
लोग दौड़कर नामदेव जी के पास आए और बोले, “महाराज! यह चमत्कार कैसे हुआ? हमें भी इसका रहस्य बताइए।”
नामदेव जी हँस पड़े और बोले, “रहस्य बहुत सरल है। पहले अपनी कुटिया में आग लगाओ, फिर जो कुछ बचा हो, उसे भी प्रभु को अर्पित कर दो।”
लोग एक-दूसरे का मुँह देखने लगे और बोले, “आप तो बिल्कुल पागल हैं!”
नामदेव जी मुस्कुराकर बोले, “हाँ, मैं अपने ठाकुर जी का पागल हूँ। और याद रखो, ठाकुर जी दुनिया के समझदारों के नहीं, अपने प्रेम में पागल भक्तों के घर बसाते हैं।”
शिक्षा
जब मनुष्य पूर्ण विश्वास, समर्पण और प्रेम के साथ स्वयं को भगवान के चरणों में अर्पित कर देता है, तब ईश्वर उसकी हर कमी को अपनी कृपा से भर देते हैं। सच्ची भक्ति वही है, जहाँ शिकायत नहीं, केवल समर्पण होता है।

Saint Namdev was such a devoted follower of the Lord that his mind was constantly fixed at the feet of his beloved deity. He held no particular attachment to worldly possessions; he believed that everything he had was a gift from the Lord and belonged solely to Him.
One day, Namdev was resting outside his small hut. It was the middle of the night when, suddenly, a fire broke out in his hut. Within moments, flames were leaping high towards the sky. People from the neighborhood came running, shouting, "Namdev-ji! Your hut is on fire—do something quickly!"
Yet, there was neither worry nor panic on Namdev’s face. He rose calmly and gazed at the fire. A profound thought arose within him: "Today, my Lord has visited my home in the form of fire. How can I let a guest leave empty-handed?"
With this thought, he began gathering the belongings kept outside his hut. He even tossed the utensils lying there into the flames and offered his remaining clothes to the fire. The onlookers were astonished by this sight.
One person exclaimed, "Oh! What are you doing? At least save what is left!"
Namdev smiled and replied, "When everything belongs to the Lord, why worry about returning it to Him?"
The people worked hard to extinguish the fire, but by then, the hut had completely burned down. Thinking Namdev had lost his mind, they all returned to their own homes.
That night, Namdev sat under the open sky, chanting the Lord's name. There was not a trace of sorrow in his heart; he kept repeating, "Oh Lord! Let Your will be done."
It is said that the Lord is immensely pleased by a devotee's surrender. Witnessing Namdev’s selfless love and unwavering faith, the Lord Himself was deeply moved. He thought, “This devotee of mine has surrendered everything to Me without a single complaint. Now, his test is complete.”
When the villagers arrived the next morning, they were struck with amazement. Where a burnt-down hut had stood the night before, there now stood a magnificent and divine cottage; it was a truly breathtaking sight.
People rushed to Namdev and asked, “Maharaj! How did this miracle happen? Please reveal the secret to us.”
Namdev laughed and said, “The secret is very simple. First, set fire to your own hut, and then offer whatever remains to the Lord.”
The people looked at one another in disbelief and exclaimed, “You are absolutely mad!”
Namdev smiled and replied, “Yes, I am mad for my Lord. And remember, the Lord does not build homes for the ‘wise’ of this world; He builds them for the devotees who are mad with love for Him.”
Moral
When a person surrenders themselves at the feet of the Lord with complete faith, devotion, and love, God fills every void in their life with His grace. True devotion is that in which there are no complaints—only surrender.
