एक छोटे से शहर में प्रमिला नाम की एक लड़की रहती थी। उसके मन में बड़े-बड़े सपने थे। वह हमेशा सोचती थी कि एक दिन वह अपने परिवार का नाम रोशन करेगी। उसने अपनी पढ़ाई, मेहनत और समय सब कुछ अपने लक्ष्य को पाने में लगा दिया था। उसके सपने इतने नाज़ुक थे जैसे काँच का कोई सुंदर महल।
प्रमिला को अपने सबसे करीबी मित्र पर बहुत भरोसा था। वह हर बात उसी से साझा करती थी। जब भी उसे किसी निर्णय में कठिनाई होती, वह उसी की सलाह लेती। प्रमिला को लगता था कि उसका मित्र हमेशा उसका साथ देगा। लेकिन जीवन हमेशा हमारी उम्मीदों के अनुसार नहीं चलता।
