अनन्त साक्षी — जाम्बवन्त की कथा
राजाओं ने वर्षों की गिनती भी शुरू नहीं की थी,
पर्वतों ने स्थिर रहना भी नहीं सीखा था,
तब एक ऐसा अस्तित्व था
जो स्मृति से पहले की दुनिया को याद रखता था।
उसका नाम था — जाम्बवन्त।
प्रथम प्रभात में जन्म
जब ब्रह्मा ने सृष्टि की रचना की,
तब शून्य में एक गर्जना गूँजी—
क्रोध की नहीं, धैर्य की।
उसी गर्जना से प्रकट हुए जाम्बवन्त,
भालू-राजा—
राज करने के लिए नहीं,
साक्षी बनने के लिए।
उन्होंने समुद्र मंथन देखा—
जब देव और दानवों ने वासुकी को खींचा
और संसार टूटने की कगार पर आ गया।
जब सब अमृत के पीछे दौड़े,
जाम्बवन्त बस देखते रहे—
और वह सत्य समझ लिया
जो किसी और ने नहीं देखा:
शक्ति क्षणिक है। समय नहीं।
वह योद्धा जिसने कभी घमंड नहीं किया
जाम्बवन्त ने देवताओं के साथ
उन असुरों से युद्ध किया
जिनके नाम अब धूल बन चुके हैं।
लंका दहन से बहुत पहले
वह रावण के सामने भी खड़े हुए।
उन्होंने देवों से मल्लयुद्ध किया,
ऋषियों से शास्त्रार्थ किया,
और नायकों की कई पीढ़ियों को
उभरते और मिटते देखा।
फिर भी
उन्होंने कभी विजय का दावा नहीं किया।
क्योंकि जाम्बवन्त जानते थे—
जो शक्ति स्वयं को घोषित करती है,
उसका क्षय आरंभ हो चुका होता है।
राम का युग
जब रावण की छाया से संसार अंधकारमय हुआ,
जाम्बवन्त ने भाग्य की धड़कन पहचान ली।
उन्होंने एक राजा को नहीं,
धर्म के साकार रूप
श्रीराम को प्रणाम किया।
पर उनका सबसे महान क्षण
युद्धभूमि में नहीं आया।
वह मौन में आया।
हनुमान का स्मरण
असीम समुद्र के सामने
वानर सेना ठिठक गई।
संशय ऐसा फैला
जैसे अचानक रात्रि उतर आई हो।
यहाँ तक कि
पवनपुत्र हनुमान भी
क्षणभर को स्वयं को भूल गए।
तब जाम्बवन्त बोले।
न ऊँचे स्वर में।
न गर्व से।
उन्होंने युगों का भार
शब्दों में रख दिया।
उन्होंने हनुमान को
उनकी शक्ति याद दिलाई—
प्रशंसा करके नहीं,
स्मरण कराकर।
और उसी क्षण समुद्र काँप उठा।
हनुमान उड़े।
लंका प्रतीक्षा में थी।
इतिहास बदल गया।
जाम्बवन्त मुस्कुराए।
क्योंकि सच्चा गुरु स्वयं नहीं चमकता—
वह दूसरों को प्रज्वलित करता है।
अंतिम उपदेश
राम की विजय के बाद,
जब अयोध्या उत्सव से गूँज रही थी,
जाम्बवन्त चुपचाप लौट चले।
किसी ने पूछा,
“हे अनन्त साक्षी, आप जा क्यों रहे हैं?”
जाम्बवन्त बोले—
“मैं वहीं ठहरता हूँ
जहाँ स्मृति की आवश्यकता होती है।
जब विवेक जाग उठता है,
तो साक्षी को ओझल हो जाना चाहिए।”
और वे वनों में विलीन हो गए—
मरने के लिए नहीं,
प्रतीक्षा करने के लिए।
जब तक संसार
अपनी वास्तविक शक्ति को भूलता रहेगा,
जाम्बवन्त जीवित रहेंगे।
देखते हुए।
याद रखते हुए।
धैर्य के साथ।

Before kings had even begun counting the years,

Who remembered the world from before memory itself.
His name was — Jambavan.
Born in the First Dawn
When Brahma created the universe,
A roar echoed through the void—

From that very roar manifested Jambavan,
The King of Bears—
Not to rule,

He watched the Churning of the Ocean—
When gods and demons pulled Vasuki,
And the universe stood on the brink of shattering.
While everyone ran after the nectar of immortality (Amrit),
Jambavan simply stood watching—
And realized a truth
That no one else saw:
Power is fleeting. Time is not.
The Warrior Who Knew No Pride
Alongside the gods, Jambavan fought
Those demons (Asuras)
Whose names have now turned to dust.
Long before the burning of Lanka,
He stood face-to-face even with Ravana.
He wrestled with demigods,
Debated the scriptures with sages,
And watched generations of heroes
Rise and fall.
And yet,
He never claimed victory.
Because Jambavan knew—
The moment power declares itself,
Its decay has already begun.
The Age of Ram
When the world grew dark under the shadow of Ravana,
Jambavan recognized the heartbeat of destiny.
He bowed not to a mere king,
But to Righteousness personified—
Shri Ram.
Yet, his greatest moment
Did not unfold on the battlefield.
It arrived in silence.
Reminding Hanuman
Faced with the boundless ocean,
The Vanara army froze in hesitation.
Doubt spread among them
Like a sudden descent of night.
Even the son of the wind, Hanuman,
Forgot his true self for a fleeting moment.
Then, Jambavan spoke.
Not in a loud voice.
Not out of pride.
He channeled the weight of ages
Into his words.
He reminded Hanuman
Of his true strength—
Not by flattering him,
But by making him remember.
And at that exact moment, the ocean trembled.
Hanuman took flight.
Lanka was waiting.
History was rewritten.
Jambavan smiled.
For a true master does not seek to shine—
He ignites the spark in others.
The Final Teaching
After Ram's victory,
When Ayodhya was echoing with celebrations,
Jambavan quietly turned to leave.
Someone asked,
“O Eternal Witness, why are you leaving?”
Jambavan replied—
“I stay only
Where memory is needed.
When wisdom awakens,
The witness must fade away.”
And he dissolved back into the forests—
Not to die,
But to wait.
As long as the world
Continues to forget its true strength,
Jambavan will live on.
Watching.
Remembering.
With absolute patience.
