| The Amazing Secret of Karma: How Are the Accounts of Our Actions Settled? ✨

English:
Every day, a beggar would go to a specific doorstep and call out for alms. Whenever the owner of the house came out, he would hurl foul insults and taunts at him: "Go die! Why don’t you work? Will you keep begging your entire life?!"
Sometimes, in a fit of rage, the wealthy merchant would even shove him. Yet, the beggar would only say, "May God forgive your sins!"
One day, the merchant was in a terrible mood. He had likely suffered a loss in his business. The beggar happened to arrive at that exact moment to ask for alms. Without a second thought, the merchant picked up a stone and threw it straight at him.
Blood began to gush from the beggar's head. Even so, he looked at the merchant and said, "May God forgive your sins," before turning to leave.
As the merchant’s anger cooled down, he began to reflect: "I struck him with a stone, yet he only blessed me! What is the mystery behind this? I must find out." With that, he began to follow the beggar. Wherever the beggar went, the merchant trailed behind him. In some places, people would give the beggar alms; in others, they would beat him, humiliate him, and abuse him. But the beggar’s response remained exactly the same: "May God forgive your sins."
By now, darkness had fallen. The beggar was returning to his home, with the merchant still following secretly. As soon as the beggar entered his house, an old woman—his wife—woke up from a broken cot. Seeing her husband, she stood up and immediately looked into the begging bowl. There was only a single piece of stale, half-eaten roti inside. Seeing this, the old woman sighed, "Just this much?! Nothing else?! And how did you open up your head like that?"
The beggar replied, "Yes, just this much. No one gave anything today. Everyone abused me and threw stones; that is how my head got split open." He then added, "It is all simply the consequence of our own sins."
"Do you remember," he continued, "how incredibly wealthy we used to be some years ago? There was nothing we lacked, yet we never donated a single thing. Do you remember that blind beggar?" Tears welled up in the old woman’s eyes.
She replied, "Yes, how we used to make fun of that blind beggar. How we would place empty pieces of paper in his bowl instead of rotis, and how we used to humiliate him. How we would sometimes beat him and push him away."
The old woman wept, "Yes, I remember it all! I even refused to show him the path once and let him fall into the open household drain. Whenever he asked for food, I gave nothing but abuse. Once, I even threw his bowl away. And that blind beggar would always say—'God will settle the account of your sins, not me!'"
"Today," the beggar sighed, "his curse and misery have drowned us." The beggar then added, "But I choose not to curse anyone. No matter how much injustice is inflicted upon me, there are always prayers on my lips. I do not want anyone else to witness such terrible days. I bless even those who wrong me, because they truly do not know the sin they are committing—which God is watching directly. No one else should suffer the fate we brought upon ourselves. Therefore, seeing my own condition, only blessings come from the depths of my heart."
The merchant was silently listening to everything from outside.
He finally understood the entire mystery. The old couple shared that half-roti together, muttered, "Glory be to the Lord," and went to sleep
The next day, the beggar went back to the merchant's house for alms. The merchant had already kept rotis ready. He handed them to the beggar and, with a soft, apologetic smile, said, "Forgive me, Baba. I made a grave mistake."
The beggar replied, "May God bless you!" and walked away.
The merchant finally realized a profound truth. Humans can only offer blessings or curses, but it is that supreme Magician, the Almighty, who fulfills them precisely according to the ledger of one's karma.
Even if you do not receive it in this lifetime, it catches up to you in the next world; everyone must reap the fruits of their own actions.
If possible, choose only to do good. So what if He cannot be seen? His cosmic calculation is always flawless and absolute.
