Namdev Ji Miracle: जब भक्त के लिए ठाकुर जी ने घुमा दिया मंदिर! The Power of True Devotion.

नामदेव जी एक दिन ठाकुर जी के दर्शन करने गए। उन्होंने सोचा मंदिर में बहुत भीड़ है, और पादुका बहुत मुश्किल से मिली है (वह दैन्य और ग़रीब थे)। 

उन्होंने एक कपड़े में पादुका को लपेट कर अपनी कमर पर बांध लिया (निराले होते हैं भगवान के भक्त, उनको बादशाह से कुछ नहीं चाहिए था लेकिन वो अपनी पादुका से आसक्त हो गए, महापुरुषों की लीला ठाकुर जी ही जानें)।

वो प्रभु के सामने जाकर नाचने लगे, उनकी कमर पे टंगी पादुका की गाँठ खुल गई और पादुका ज़मीन पर गिर गई। 

यह देखकर ठाकुर जी के पुजारियों ने उन्हें बाहर जाने के लिए बोला लेकिन वो तो भाव में खोये हुए थे तो उन्होंने सुना ही नहीं। 

इस पर पुजारियों ने उन्हें पाँच-सात थप्पड़ मारे और मंदिर से बाहर निकाल दिया। उन्होंने ये भी कह दिया कि आज के बाद यहाँ दर्शन करने मत आना। 

नामदेव जी ने ठाकुर जी से कहा अब मैं तुम्हारे सामने बैठूंगा ही नहीं, मैं मंदिर के पीछे जाकर शांति से कीर्तन करुंगा। 

मंदिर के पीछे जाकर उन्होंने ठाकुर जी से कहा आपने मुझे पिटवा दिया इसका कोई गुस्सा नहीं है पर ऐसा क्यों किया कि मैं आगे से दर्शन करने ही ना आ पाऊँ? वो अंदर से दुखी थे। .

उन्होंने फिर कहा, अब मुझे मंदिर के पीछे से भी मत हटवा देना, मैं तुम्हारे सामने नहीं आऊँगा। .

उसी समय कबीर दास जी वहाँ आए और बोले भगवान के यहाँ हम जैसे ग़रीबों की क़दर नहीं रही अब, ठाकुर जी बदल गए हैं, चलो यहाँ से चलते हैं। 

भगवान डर गए और उनके सामने प्रकट हो गये, बोला मुझे छोड़कर आप दोनों मत जाओ। यह कहकर भगवान ने मंदिर घुमा दिया, पीछे वाला द्वार आगे की तरफ़ हो गया और आगे वाला द्वार पीछे को चला गया।

नामदेव जी एकांत में भजन कर रहे थे। उनके घर में आग लग गई। यह सूचना उन्हें देने कि लिये कुछ लोग वहाँ आए। लोगों ने उनकी सहायता करने के लिए जो सामान बच सकता था उसे बाहर निकाल के रख लिया। 

जब वह घर पहुँचे तो उन्होंने सोचा कि आग में भी तो मेरे प्रभु ही हैं। उन्होंने पड़ोसियों से कहा हमारे प्रभु पधारे हैं और आप उनका भोग छीन रहे हैं। यह कहकर उन्होंने बाक़ी बचाया गया सामान भी आग में फेंक दिया। 

लोगों ने सोचा कि अब कोई इनकी मदद नहीं करेगा, इनको ठंड में रात में बाहर ही रहने दें, हमने कितनी मुश्किल से आग में झुलस कर वह समान बचाया था और इन्होंने उसे वापस आग में डाल दिया। 

उन्हें क्या पता कि प्रभु जिसके प्रीतम हैं उसके लिए कुछ भी दुर्लभ नहीं है। वह निश्चिंत होकर उसी राख की ताप में लेट गये।

प्रभु ने नामदेव जी के लिए एक नई कुटिया बना दी। सबसे सुंदर और सुगंधित सामग्री से उनकी कुटिया बनी। स्वयं रुक्मणी जी ने उनकी कुटिया बनाने में सहायता की। 

उस कुटिया से एक दिव्य सुगंध आ रही थी जिससे पूरे गाँव के लोग वहाँ आने लगे। गाँव वाले नामदेव जी से पूछने लगे कि कितने रुपये लगे ऐसी कुटिया बनाने में, हम सब बनवाना चाहेंगे। 

नामदेव जी ने कहा बहुत महँगी है, अपने-अपने घर से बाहर निकलकर हर चीज़ को आग लगा दीजिए और अपने जले हुए घर के बाहर बैठ कर कीर्तन कीजिए, फिर हमारा मालिक स्वयं आकर मुफ़्त में आपकी कुटिया बना देगा। 

जिसने वैराग्य रूपी अग्नि में अपनी ममता को स्वाहा कर दिया है, जिसने अपना सब कुछ प्रभु के चरणों में समर्पित कर दिया है, प्रभु उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी ले लेते हैं। यह सुनकर गाँव वाले पीछे हट गए और सबने नामदेव जी के चरणों में प्रणाम किया।

One day, Namdev Ji went to seek the *darshan* (sacred sight) of Thakur Ji. He observed that the temple was very crowded, and—being a man of humility and meager means—he had managed to acquire a pair of wooden sandals (*padukas*) only with great difficulty.

He wrapped the sandals in a piece of cloth and tied them securely around his waist. (The devotees of God are truly unique; while they desire nothing from kings or emperors, they can become deeply attached even to a pair of sandals—such are the divine *leelas* [plays] of great souls, known only to Thakur Ji Himself.)

He stepped before the Lord and began to dance in ecstatic devotion. In the fervor of his dance, the knot holding the sandals to his waist came undone, and the sandals fell to the ground.

Witnessing this, the priests of Thakur Ji’s temple ordered him to leave. However, Namdev Ji was so deeply immersed in his devotional trance that he did not hear them at all.

At this, the priests slapped him five or seven times and forcibly evicted him from the temple. They even sternly warned him never to return for *darshan* again.

Namdev Ji then spoke to Thakur Ji, saying, "From now on, I will not sit before You at all; instead, I will go behind the temple and perform my *kirtan* (devotional singing) in peace."

Upon reaching the back of the temple, he addressed Thakur Ji again: "I bear no anger toward You for allowing me to be beaten. But why did You orchestrate events in such a way that I can no longer come before You to seek Your *darshan*?" He felt a deep sorrow within his heart.

He added, "Now, please do not let me be driven away even from this spot behind the temple; I promise I will not come before Your presence again."

At that very moment, Kabir Das Ji arrived at the scene and remarked, "It seems that in God's abode, there is no longer any place or respect for poor souls like us. Thakur Ji has changed. Come, let us leave this place."

Hearing this, the Lord became alarmed and immediately manifested Himself before them. He pleaded, "Do not leave Me; neither of you must go away." Saying this, the Lord caused the entire temple to rotate; the rear entrance swung around to face the front, while the main entrance shifted to the back.

Namdev Ji was once performing his devotional singing in solitude when a fire broke out at his home. Several people rushed to inform him of the calamity. To assist him, the neighbors salvaged whatever belongings they could from the burning house and set them aside.

When Namdev Ji finally reached his home, he reflected, "Is it not my very own Lord who resides even within the fire?" He then turned to his neighbors and said, "Our Lord has graced us with His presence here, yet you are attempting to snatch away the very offering (*bhog*) meant for Him!" Having said this, he threw the remaining salvaged belongings into the fire as well.

The people thought, "Now no one will come to his aid; let him remain out in the cold night. With such great difficulty—scorched by the flames—we had managed to save those belongings, yet he has thrown them right back into the fire."

Little did they know that for one whose Beloved is the Lord, nothing is unattainable. With a mind completely at peace, he lay down to rest, warmed by the heat of those very ashes.

The Lord built a new hut for Namdev Ji. It was constructed using the most beautiful and fragrant materials imaginable. Goddess Rukmini herself assisted in its construction.

A divine fragrance emanated from the hut, drawing people from the entire village to the spot. The villagers began asking Namdev Ji, "How much did it cost to build such a hut? We would all like to have one built for ourselves."

Namdev Ji replied, "It is very expensive. Step out of your respective homes, set fire to everything you own, and then sit outside your burnt-down houses and perform *Kirtan* (devotional singing); then, our Master Himself will come and build your hut for you—absolutely free of cost."

For the one who has consumed their worldly attachments in the fire of renunciation—who has surrendered their entire being at the Lord's feet—the Lord Himself assumes full responsibility. Hearing this, the villagers stepped back in awe and bowed down in reverence at Namdev Ji's feet.
