डाकोर (गुजरात) के श्री रणछोड़राय जी और उनके परम भक्त बोडाणा की कहानी अटूट श्रद्धा और भक्ति की सबसे सुंदर मिसाल है। यह कहानी बताती है कि कैसे भगवान अपने भक्त के प्रेम के वश में होकर अपना मंदिर तक छोड़ देते हैं।
विजयसिंह बोडाणा डाकोर के एक साधारण राजपूत थे। उनकी भक्ति इतनी गहरी थी कि वे हर छह महीने में एक बार पैदल चलकर डाकोर से द्वारका (सैकड़ों किलोमीटर दूर) भगवान के दर्शन करने जाते थे।
1. बुढ़ापा और भगवान की करुणा
बोडाणा यह नियम 72 वर्ष की आयु तक निभाते रहे। जब वे बूढ़े हो गए और चलने में असमर्थ होने लगे, तो उन्होंने भगवान से प्रार्थना की। भगवान द्वारकाधीश उनके सपने में आए और कहा:
"बोडाणा, तुम्हें अब इतनी दूर आने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। अगली बार जब तुम आओ, तो एक बैलगाड़ी लेकर आना, मैं स्वयं तुम्हारे साथ डाकोर चलूँगा।"

2. वह चमत्कारिक यात्रा
बोडाणा एक टूटी-फूटी बैलगाड़ी लेकर द्वारका पहुँचे। द्वारका के पुजारियों ने उनका मज़ाक उड़ाया। लेकिन रात के सन्नाटे में, भगवान श्रीकृष्ण (रणछोड़राय) स्वयं मूर्ति रूप में बोडाणा की बैलगाड़ी में बैठ गए।
हैरानी की बात यह थी कि जिस रास्ते को पैदल तय करने में हफ़्तों लगते थे, भगवान की कृपा से वह बैलगाड़ी एक ही रात में डाकोर पहुँच गई।
3. सोने से तौला जाना
जब द्वारका के पुजारियों को पता चला कि मूर्ति गायब है, तो वे पीछे-पीछे डाकोर पहुँच गए। उन्होंने बोडाणा पर मूर्ति चुराने का आरोप लगाया। अंत में यह तय हुआ कि यदि बोडाणा मूर्ति के वजन के बराबर सोना दे दें, तो वे मूर्ति ले जा सकते हैं।
बोडाणा बहुत गरीब थे। उनके पास केवल उनकी पत्नी की सोने की एक 'नथ' (नाक की बाली) थी।
जब तराजू के एक पलड़े में भारी मूर्ति रखी गई और दूसरे में वह छोटी सी 'नथ', तो एक चमत्कार हुआ।
भक्त के प्रेम के कारण, भगवान की भारी मूर्ति उस छोटी सी नथ के बराबर हल्की हो गई।
भगवान ने सिद्ध कर दिया कि वे सोने-चांदी से नहीं, बल्कि केवल सच्चे भाव से ही तौले जा सकते हैं।
आज भी है इसका प्रमाण
आज भी डाकोर के मंदिर में जो मूर्ति है, वह वही मूल मूर्ति मानी जाती है जिसे बोडाणा द्वारका से लाए थे। द्वारका के मंदिर में बाद में दूसरी मूर्ति स्थापित की गई थी।

The story of Shri Ranchhodrai Ji of Dakor (Gujarat) and his supreme devotee, Bodana, stands as a most beautiful testament to unwavering faith and devotion. This tale illustrates how the Lord, captivated by the love of His devotee, is willing to forsake even His own temple.
Vijaysingh Bodana was a humble Rajput from Dakor. His devotion was so profound that, once every six months, he would undertake a pilgrimage on foot—traveling from Dakor to Dwarka (a distance of hundreds of kilometers)—solely to seek the *darshan* (divine sight) of the Lord.
1. Old Age and the Lord's Compassion
Bodana faithfully upheld this vow until he reached the age of 72. As he grew old and began to find walking increasingly difficult, he offered a prayer to the Lord. Lord Dwarkadhish appeared to him in a dream and spoke:
"Bodana, you need no longer undertake such a long journey. The next time you come, bring a bullock cart with you; I Myself shall accompany you back to Dakor."

2. The Miraculous Journey
Bodana arrived in Dwarka with a dilapidated bullock cart. The priests of Dwarka mocked him. However, in the stillness of the night, Lord Shri Krishna (Ranchhodrai)—in the very form of the deity's idol—seated Himself within Bodana's bullock cart.
Astonishingly, a journey that would typically take weeks to complete on foot was, by the grace of the Lord, traversed by that bullock cart in a single night, reaching Dakor by dawn.
3. Weighed Against Gold
When the priests of Dwarka discovered that the idol was missing, they pursued Bodana all the way to Dakor. They accused him of stealing the idol. Ultimately, a resolution was reached: if Bodana could offer a quantity of gold equal to the weight of the idol, the priests would allow him to keep it.
Bodana was a very poor man. All he possessed was a single gold *nath* (nose ring) belonging to his wife.
When the heavy idol was placed upon one pan of the weighing scale, and that tiny *nath* upon the other, a miracle occurred. Due to the devotee's love, the massive idol of the Lord became as light as that tiny nose ring.
The Lord proved that He can be weighed not by gold or silver, but solely by true devotion.
Evidence of This Exists Even Today
Even today, the idol enshrined in the temple at Dakor is believed to be the very same original idol that Bodana brought from Dwarka. A different idol was subsequently installed in the temple at Dwarka.
