चौथे घर में बैठा हुआ मंगल कोई बहुत शुभ फल नहीं देता। मेष लग्न वालों के लिए चौथे घर में कर्क राशि पड़ती है। यह जल तत्व की राशि है। सर्वश्रेष्ठ अंकशास्त्री के अनुसर इस राशि में आकर आग के गोले जैसा मंगल अपनी आग-तपिश को बुझाकर मंद हो जाता है। वैसे भी कर्क राशि मंगल के लिए नीच राशि है, इस कारण से भी मंगल का फल शुभ नहीं रहता है। ऐसे लोगों में, जिनका मंगल चौथे घर में होता है, एक अज्ञात भय उनके मन में समाया होता है। इस डर वाली भावना की क्या वजह है, इसे वह दूसरों को ठीक तरह से समझा नहीं पाता। बहुत बार ऐसा होता है कि जब वह अपनी भावनाओं को प्रकट करता है, यह भावना चाहे प्रेम की हो या क्रोध की, उसके द्वारा व्यक्त भावना से दूसरे को कोई गलतफहमी हो जाने की संभावना ज्यादा रहती है। ऐसा इस कारण से होता है कि वह जो कुछ भी कहना चाहता है, उसे वह ठीक तरह से कह नहीं पाता है। ऐसा होने के और भी बहुत से कारण हो सकते हैं; लेकिन सामान्यतः इसका सबसे बड़ा कारण यह पाया गया है कि ऐसे व्यक्ति के बचपन की पारिवारिक परिस्थितियाँ बहुत अनुकूल नहीं होतीं। संभवतः घर के सदस्यों में उस तरह का प्यार नहीं होता जिससे कि बच्चे की भावुकता परिपक्व हो सके और वह निडर व भयरहित होकर अपना विकास कर सके। कुछ हालातों में यह भी देखने में आता है कि - पिता के साथ विचार न मिलने से या पिता का सख्त स्वभाव होने की वजह से बच्चे में बचपन से ही एक प्रकार का डर पैदा हो जाता है | चौथे घर का संबंध हमारे मकान से भी है और पारिवारिक स्थिति से भी है। इस घर में मंगल होने से उस व्यक्ति के लिए जमीन-मकान आदि से संबंधित चीजों के फल अच्छे नहीं मिलते। यदि ऐसा व्यक्ति जायदाद संबंधी काम करे तो उसमें लाभ होने की संभावना कम रहती है। ज्योतिष शास्त्र के आचार्य जागेश्वर का मत है कि चौथे घर मंगल होने से टूटा-फूटा घर होता है। उस घर में आग लगती है या वह आग से जलकर नष्ट हो जाता है। इस विचार से पूरी तरह सहमत होना मुश्किल है। हा, ये बात ठीक है कि उस व्यक्ति का घर बहुत आलीशान या अच्छा नहीं होता; किंतु घर के जलकर नष्ट हो जाने की बात ठीक प्रतीत नहीं होती। कर्क राशि, जो पूरी तरह जल की प्रतीक है उसमें बैठा मंगल तो 'चली हुई कारतूस' जैसा या 'बुझी हुई आग' जैसा है। तो ऐसे मंगल में वो तपिश नहीं बची कि वो घर को जलाकर राख कर सके। हाँ, इतना जरूर है कि इस घर में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति अपने ही मानसिक संताप में जलता रहता है। कुछ आचार्यों का मत है कि चौथे घर में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति दूसरों के घरों में रहता है। इस तरह का फल उस हालात में ज्यादा देखने को आता है जब चौथे घर में मंगल के साथ बुध भी हो। ऐसी हालात में उस व्यक्ति का अपना निजी मकान बनना संभव नहीं होता। यदि ऐसे व्यक्ति का मकान बने भी तो बहुत आयु गुजर जाने के बाद बनता है। ज्योतिष आचार्य गुणाकार जैसे विद्वानों का मत ठीक प्रतीत होता है कि-चौथे घर में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति को सुख नहीं मिलता। उसे मानसिक कष्ट बना रहता है। यह बात एकदम ठीक है। इसका कारण यह है कि चौथा घर हमारी मन की शांति तथा खुशी का घर भी है। अतः चौथे घर में मंगल होने से चंद्रमा की कर्क राशि में मंगल नीच हो गया। नीच होने से वह चौथे घर की लगभग सभी कारक वस्तुओं पर बुरा प्रभाव डालेगा। और मन की शांति भी उनमें से ऐसी ही एक चीज है। इस प्रकार यह कहा जा सकता है कि-चौथे घर में पड़े मंगल वाले व्यक्ति को जीवन-भर कोई-न-कोई पीड़ा रहती है जो संपूर्ण शांतिमय जीवन में बाधक बनती है। कई दफा परिस्थितियाँ ठीक होते हुए भी इस मन को पीड़ा से छुटकारा पाना मुश्किल होता है। एक पुराने ज्योतिषी पुंजराज के अनुसार इस चौथे घर में मंगल होने से माता के मायके के घर के लोगों को विष या शस्त्रों से कष्ट होता है। एक अन्य ज्योतिषी रामदयाल का विचार भी लगभग इसी प्रकार का है। वास्तव में, मंगल उस व्यक्ति के नानके घर के लोगों में से उनके लिए बुरा प्रभाव दे सकता है। जैसे- अकाल मृत्यु, गरीबी या और किसी प्रकार की घटनाएँ जिससे घर-परिवार को शांति में बाधा पड़ती है, या कई दफा यह भी देखने में आता है कि- धीरे-धीरे उस परिवार की स्थिति पहले के मुकाबले में गिरावट की ओर चली जाती है। केवल नानके घर ही इसका प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता बल्कि अपने पैतृक परिवार पर भी इसका असर अच्छा नहीं होता । ज्योतिषी काटवे का विचार है कि ऐसे व्यक्ति की पैतृक जायदाद नहीं होती । मैं इस विचार से पूरी तरह सहमत नहीं हूँ। वास्तव में उस व्यक्ति की पैतृक जायदाद तो हो सकती है, परंतु ऐसे व्यक्ति के जन्म के बाद वह जायदाद नष्ट होने की संभावना होती है या वह जायदाद उस व्यक्ति के लिए व्यर्थ ही सिद्ध होती है। इस बात को और स्पष्ट शब्दों में समझने के लिए लाल किताब के मत को ध्यान में रखना जरूरी है। लाल किताब के अनुसार चौथे घर में मंगल होने से वह व्यक्ति ऐसे घर में जन्म लेता है, जहाँ एक-दो पुस्त पहले कोई बुजुर्ग बाप-दादा-ताया इनमें से कोई भी एक पूरा बृहस्पति अर्थात् पूरा धार्मिक विचारों का खालिस सोना या शाहाना शान में रहने वाला हो सकता है। उस परिवार में हर तरफ सुख की लहर लहराती है। इस तरह से परमात्मा की नजरें उस परिवार पर मेहरबान रहती हैं। लेकिन जब चौथे घर में मंगल वाला व्यक्ति ऐसे घर में जन्म लेता है, तो वो घर के इन सुख-साधनों को बर्बाद कर देता है। उजड़े खानदानों और वीरान घरों में कभी ऐसे व्यक्ति का जन्म नहीं होता। कहने का तात्पर्य है कि मंगल चतुर्थ भाववाला व्यक्ति बहुत गरीब घर में जन्म नहीं लेता। इसका कारण यह है कि मंगल चार वाले व्यक्ति ने, चौथा घर जो परिवार का घर है, उसकी स्थिति को पहले की अपेक्षा गिरावट की ओर ले जाना होता है। जो घर पहले ही बहुत गिरी हुई हालत में है तो उसमें मंगल चार वाला व्यक्ति और गिरावट नहीं कर सकता। लाल किताब के ही अनुसार चौथे घर वाला व्यक्ति बहुत सख्त स्वभाव का होता है और बहुत हालातों में स्वभाव की सख्ती या अकड़ इसलिए भी आती है कि वह अपने विचारों को दूसरों के आगे प्रकट करने में असमर्थ होता है। इसलिए ऐसी हालत में उसकी जिद्द उसके जीवन को सहज भाव से न जीने के कारण भी पैदा हो सकती है। चौथे घर में मंगल के साथ यदि बृहस्पति हो तो उस परिवार में घर के व्यक्तियों की गिनती पर बुरा असर नहीं पड़ता। यानी उस परिवार के व्यक्तियों की अचानक मौतें नहीं होतीं। मगर इसका मतलब ये नहीं कि उन व्यक्तियों के गुजारे के लिए धन-दौलत भी काफी है। यदि इस बर में मंगल के साथ शुक्र हो तब माता के खानदान के लोग डूबते ही नजर आएँगे। ऐसे परिवार में सदस्यों की बरकत या पैसे के लिहाज से अच्छा नहीं होता। उस व्यक्ति की साली के लिए भी ऐसे मंगल का फल खराब ही होगा। मेरा मतलब है कि-साली की सेहत के लिए, गृहस्थ सुख के लिए मंगल का फल अच्छा नहीं होगा। देखने में आया है कि-चौथे घर में यदि मंगल के साथ शनि हो तो मंगल का बुरा प्रभाव थोड़ा कम हो जाता है। ऐसी हालत में, यदि वह व्यक्ति खेती की जमीन खरीदे तो दोनों का फल किसी हद तक शुभ होना शुरू हो जाता है। चौथे घर में मंगल के साथ केतु का होना काफी हद तक अशुभ फल ही देता है। क्योंकि, इस घर में मंगल और केतु दोनों का प्रभाव अशुभ हो जाता है। मंगल यानी उस व्यक्ति के भाई की ओर से उसे खुशी नहीं मिलती। केतु जो बेटे का कारक ग्रह है, बेटे की ओर से भी उस व्यक्ति को निराशा ही मिलती है। चौथे घर में मंगल होने के समय यदि चंद्रमा दसवें घर में हो तो माता की आयु या माता के स्वास्थ्य के लिए विशेषतौर पर अशुभ असर देता है। एक तो चंद्रमा का चौथा घर यानी माता का घर मंगल होने से अशुभ हो गया; दूसरा, माँ का कारक चंद्रमा दसवें घर यानी कालपुरुष कुंडली में शनि की मकर राशि में बैठा हुआ और भी अशुभ हो जाता है। लाल किताब के अनुसार दसवें घर का चंद्रमा 'आक का दूध' है, जहरीला और कड़वा दूध । इसलिए दसवें घर में चंद्रमा होने से उसका फल और भी नष्ट हो जाता है। क्योंकि, चौथे घर का मंगल अशुभ है इसलिए इस घर के बारे में कुछ उपायों का जिक्र करना जरूरी समझता हूँ। चौथे घर में मंगल होने के समय या लाल किताब के वर्ष फल के अनुसार जब मंगल चौथे घर में आए या गोचर में भी चौथे घर में कर्क राशि मंगल वहाँ आए, तो उस अवस्था में सबसे अच्छा उपाय है कि किसी मिट्टी के बर्तन में शहद डालकर बाहर कहीं जमीन में दबाना। इस उपाय की संरचना को समझना भी जरूरी है। यही मंगल जब आठवें घर में अशुभ हो तो मिट्टी के बर्तन में गुड़ डालकर बाहर जमीन में दबाना सही उपाय है। लेकिन चौथा घर जल का कारक है, इसलिए यहाँ मंगल की कारक चीज तरल मीठा हो यानी 'शहद' जो उपाय की एकदम सही वस्तु है। ये उपाय चौथे घर में मंगल होने के अशुभ प्रभाव को बहुत हद तक ठीक करता है। इस भाव में मंगल के साथ सूर्य होने से गृहस्थ शांति में कुछ-न-कुछ कमी बनी रहती है। कुछ हालातों में यदि दसवें घर में किसी अशुभ ग्रह की दृष्टि पड़ती हो तो माता के स्वास्थ्य के लिए भी इसका अशुभ असर होता है । इस स्थान पर मंगल के साथ बुध हो तो उस व्यक्ति को माता-पिता का सुख जीवन में लंबे समय तक प्राप्त होता रहता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति यदि अपने बड़े भाई के साथ रहे या उससे अच्छे संबंध रखे, तो इससे उसके अपने जीवन के हर पक्ष पर शुभ असर पड़ता है। इस भाव में मंगल के साथ राहु का होना, दोनों ग्रहों के फल को अशुभ कर देता है। कई बार ऐसी हालत में उस व्यक्ति के किसी-न-किसी मामा की आयु, स्वास्थ्य या आर्थिक स्थिति पर बहुत बुरा प्रभाव पड़ता है। माता के स्वास्थ्य या माता के मन की शांति के लिए भी यह युति खराब होती है।
