हमारे प्राचीन ज्योतिषियों ने तीसरे घर में मंगल होने के फल प्रायः शुभ ही कहे हैं। प्राचीन सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्योतिषी के अनुसार यदि मंगल तीसरे घर में हो तो वह व्यक्ति बुद्धिमान तथा पराक्रमी होता है। मेष लग्नवालों के लिए काल-पुरुष कुंडली के अनुसार बुध की राशि आती है। मंगल का बुध के घर में होना निस्संदेह व्यक्ति की बुद्धि को तीक्ष्ण करता है। सामान्यतः यह पाया गया है कि जिन वकीलों की कुंडली में मंगल तीसरे घर में होता है वह काफी हद तक सफल वकील बनते हैं। जहाँ तक व्यक्ति के पराक्रमी होने का सवाल है तो मेष लग्न के लिए तीसरे घर का मंगल हौसले में कमी तो नहीं रहने देता किंतु ये व्यक्ति को उतना दिलेर नहीं बनाता जितना तीसरे घर में मकर, मेष या वृश्चिक राशि होने से बन सकता है।महऋषि पाराशर के अनुसार तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से बड़े और छोटे भाई की मृत्यु होती है। बड़े और छोटे भाइयों की मृत्यु हो ही; यह जरूरी नहीं। इसको हम इतना जरूर कह सकते हैं कि- तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से छोटे भाई के लिए अच्छा फल नहीं मिल पाता। यहां पर प्राचीन ग्रंथों में इस बात का जिक्र कम आता है कि- तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से बहन के लिए कैसा रहेगा ? मेष लग्न वालों के लिए तीसरे घर में मिथुन राशि आती है जो बुध की राशि है और बुध बहन का कारक है। तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से आमतौर पर यह देखने में आता है कि-बुध के कारक रिश्तेदार बुआ, बहन या बेटी पर मंगल का कुछ-न-कुछ अशुभ असर जरूर पड़ता है। ये अशुभ असर इन रिश्तेदारों पर कई तरह का हो सकता है जैसे- किसी के गृहस्थ जीवन का सुखी न रहना, या नर औलाद का पैदा न होना या किसी प्रकार की बीमारी का होना आदि। इसका कारण यह है कि-मंगल तीसरे घर का कारक है, और तीसरे घर में मंगल की अपनी एक विशेष शक्ति होती है, किंतु जब यहाँ पर स्त्री ग्रहों की राशियाँ पड़ जाती हैं, तो विशेषकर मंगल, बुध की कारक चीजों पर अपना अशुभ प्रभाव डालता है। जैसा ज्ञात है कि-तीसरा घर छोटी-छोटी यात्राओं का कारक घर है, तो यह प्रश्न भी उठता है कि मंगल के इस घर में होने से यात्राओं को लेकर व्यक्ति पर कैसा प्रभाव पड़ता है ? लाल किताब के अनुसार ही नहीं बल्कि पाश्चात्य मत के अनुसार भी तीसरा घर छोटे सफरों का कारक है तो दूसरी ओर नौवाँ घर लंबे सफर का कारक है। विशेष तौर से नौवां और बारहवाँ घर हवाई जहाज से सफर करने का कारक है और आठवाँ घर कारक है और मंगल खुद इस तीसरे घर का कारक है। यहाँ पर तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से छोटी-छोटी यात्राओं के जीवन में बहुत मौके आते हैं। हमें एक बात और जाननी होगी कि तीसरे घर के मंगल में ऐसी क्या बात है. कि वह व्यक्ति को नास्तिक बना देता है? इस बात को कालपुरुष कुंडली से समझना पड़ेगा। तीसरे घर में बुध की राशि आती है और यहाँ पर मंगल के होने से, यानी मंगल में हनुमानजी की जो श्रद्धा है कि जो राम कहें वो भी वही कहेंगे, कोई सवाल नहीं करेंगे अर्थात् अंधी श्रद्धा, तो बुध की राशि में मंगल आने से ऐसा नहीं होता, बल्कि घटना इसके विपरीत घटती है। यहाँ व्यक्ति सब कुछ ऐसे ही नहीं मान लेगा, क्योंकि बुध की बुद्धि यहाँ मंगल से जुड़ी है। अतः बाहरी तौर पर एक प्रपंच तो हो सकता है, दिखावा तो हो सकता है, मगर ऐसे व्यक्ति में पूर्ण श्रद्धा की कमी पाई जाती है, जिस कारण वह नास्तिक हो सकता है। मेष लग्न का मंगल तीसरे घर में कुछ रिश्तेदारों से झगड़ा या मनमुटाव जरूर करवाता है। ये झगड़ा कुछ हालातों में बहन से भी हो सकता है और भाईयों से भी। यहाँ पर यदि मंगल अकेला है तो लाल किताब में जिक्र आता है कि-तीसरे घर का मंगल 'चिड़ियाघर का कैदी शेर' होता है। इसका मतलब ये है कि- तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से उस व्यक्ति को बहुत बार, जो उसके अंदर शक्ति है उसका पूरा आभास नहीं होता और बहुत छोटी-छोटी परिस्थितियाँ, जिनको वह बंधन समझता है, यदि वह चाहे तो उन सब बंधनों को तोड़ सकता है और बंधनमुक्त हो सकता है। किंतु बहुत बार जीवन का एक पक्ष इन स्थितियों को बंधन समझकर ही निष्फल रह जाता है। हाँ, यदि बुध किसी मित्र ग्रह के साथ हो तो मंगल यहाँ 'चिड़ियाघर का शेर' नहीं, बल्कि 'जंगल का बादशाह शेर' होगा। ऐसी स्थिति में उसकी क्या सामर्थ्य है, इसका ज्ञान उसे होता है और वह अपने ध्येय को सहज ही या बहुत थोड़े संघर्ष के बाद प्राप्त कर लेता है। इसका कारण ये है कि-अब उसके पास मंगल की अथाह शक्ति है। यदि मंगल यहाँ अकेला है तो बुध की राशि में होने के कारण, बुध की शरारत-भरी तेज बुद्धि उसके मन में कहीं भ्रम पैदा किए रखती है। लेकिन, अगर मंगल अपने किसी मित्र ग्रह के साथ हो तो उसकी सहायता से वह अपने आपको सही रूप में पहचान पाता है, और अपनी शक्ति का सदुपयोग कर सकता है । पुराने कुछ ज्योतिषियों का मत है कि - तीसरे घर के मंगल वाले का निम्न स्तर की स्त्रियों से संबंध रहता है और वह वेश्यागामी तक हो सकता है। मेरे अनुसार, यह धारणा ठीक नहीं। इसका कारण यह है कि- तीसरे घर का आदमी की कामवृत्ति से कोई संबंध नहीं। तीसरा घर कालपुरुष कुंडली के अनुसार बुध का है और बुध अपने आपमें एक नपुंसक ग्रह है। अतः यह मानना बिल्कुल भी ठीक नहीं कि व्यक्ति वेश्यागमन करेगा। बुध का संबंध बुद्धि से है न कि काम-शक्ति से। मान लो किसी कारण से-तीसरे घर के मंगल को लेकर आपको ऐसा लगने लगे कि -शायद उस आदमी में दूसरी स्त्रियों से संबंध रखने की वृत्ति है तो इसका कारण उस कुंडली में शुक्र का किसी अच्छे घर में न होना हो सकता है. कित् उसका कारण तीसरे घर का मंगल नहीं होगा। लाल किताब में मंगल के साथ राहु के होने को 'राजा की गिनती का आदमी' कहा है, यानी शाही सवारी का हाथी। और तीसरे घर में जब मंगल-राहु हो तो इसका फल और भी शुभ हो जाता है। इसका कारण ये है कि - मंगल के साथ राहु कहीं भी हो तो राहु कोई शरारत नहीं कर सकता। इस कारण से लाल किताब के अनुसार मंगल और राहु को शुभ माना है। विशेषतौर से यदि यह योग तीसरे या छठे घर में बनता हो। हाँ, एक बात मैं यहाँ स्पष्ट कर दूँ कि - बहुत बार यदि तीसरे घर में मंगल-राहु हों तो आदमी के बाजू पर या टाँग पर चोट लगने की संभावना रहती है। अब यहाँ पर चीजों को देखने का दृष्टिकोण ही चीजों में बहुत अंतर डालता है। जहाँ पर मंगल-राहु तीसरे घर में हो, तो केतु नौवें घर में होगा। मंगल और केतु की आपस में दृष्टि है तो असल में चोट का कारण वही बनती है न कि मंगल-राहु का एक साथ होना। इस प्रकार यह बात स्पष्ट हो जाती है कि- व्यक्ति के चोट लगने में मंगल-राहु का कोई योगदान नहीं होता । तीसरे घर में मंगल होने से यह जरूर होता है कि-ऐसा व्यक्ति दूसरों की सहायता करने में सबसे आगे होता है । इसीलिए तीसरे घर के मंगल के बारे में लाल किताब में जिक्र आता है कि-ऐसा मंगल दूसरों के लिए 'फलों का दरख्त' होगा। यहाँ 'दूसरों' से मतलब है-मित्र, नजदीकी रिश्तेदार या और अन्य लोग जो उससे संबंधित हैं, लाभ प्राप्त करते हैं। यहाँ एक बात को समझना बहुत जरूरी है। 'दूसरों के लिए फलों का दरख्त' जो दरख्त पर फल लगे होते हैं, लाल किताब में इसके बारे में कोई व्याख्या नहीं की हुई है। लेकिन मेरे विचार से 'फलों के दरख्त' से यह अर्थ भी हुआ कि कई दफा फल तोड़ने के लिए हम पत्थर भी मारते हैं, लेकिन जो फल देनेवाला वृक्ष है वो फल देता ही है। तो सार-रूप में यहाँ हम कह सकते हैं कि- तीसरे घर का मंगल स्वभाव से बहुत ही उदार, फलों के वृक्ष जैसा ही होता है। अपने अनेक विरोधियों व हानि पहुँचानेवाले लोगों को यह जानते हुए भी कि इनकी नीयत खोटी है, तीसरे घर के मंगल वाला व्यक्ति अपनी उदारता में कोई कमी नहीं करता । तीसरे घर में यदि मंगल के साथ बृहस्पति हो तो वह मंगल के फल को बहुत अच्छा कर देता है। लाल किताब में इस तरह की युति को 'शेष धन' का नाम दिया है। तीसरे घर में यह युति होने को कहा गया है कि ऐसा व्यक्ति अपने पुरखों की धन-संपदा की पूरी तरह से हिफाजत करता है। उस धन को अपनी गलतियों के कारण नष्ट नहीं करता। हाँ, ये जरूरी नहीं कि - वह व्यक्ति अपने धन से इस संपत्ति में कोई इजाफा कर सके। और जैसा कि - मैंने पहले जिक्र किया कि ऐसा व्यक्ति धर्म में बहुत आस्था नहीं रखता; लेकिन यदि तीसरे घर में मंगल-बृहस्पति एक साथ हों तो ऐसा व्यक्ति परिपूर्ण रूप से एक धार्मिक, पूजा-पाठ करने वाला, विद्वान कर्मकांडी होता है। तीसरे घर में मंगल के साथ चंद्र होने से यह योग-युति शुभ फलदायी होती है । इसके बारे में लाल किताब में जिक्र आता है कि यदि चंद्र-मंगल एक साथ हों तो इस युति को 'श्रेष्ठ धन' कहते हैं। 'श्रेष्ठ धन' से यहाँ यह अर्थ हुआ कि उसका धन ईमानदारी से कमाया हुआ होता है। इसी कारण से ऐसे व्यक्ति के धन में लगातार वृद्धि व बरकत रहती है। खासतौर से यदि यह युति तीसरे घर में हो तो लाल किताब के अनुसार ऐसा व्यक्ति अक्लमंद, व काम करने के नए-नए ढंग को खोजने वाला एक आविष्कारक होता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति अपने जीवन में शीघ्रता से उन्नति करता है। तीसरे घर में मंगल के साथ शुक्र का होना कई प्रकार के प्रभाव पैदा करता है। बहुत से पुराने ज्योतिषियों ने इसके बारे में कहा है कि यदि मंगल के साथ तीसरे घर में शुक्र भी हो तो वह व्यक्ति दूसरी स्त्रियों से संबंध बनाने की भावना दिल में रखता है। कई बार ऐसे व्यक्ति का धन पराई स्त्री पर खर्च भी होता है। लाल किताब में इस बात को लेकर कोई विशेष चर्चा नहीं की गई। किंतु यदि हम लाल किताब में उसूलों की दृष्टि से देखें तो शुक्र तीसरे घर में होने से उस व्यक्ति पर कोई-न-कोई स्त्री मोहित अवश्य होती है। लाल किताब में इस बारे में कुछ अधिक नहीं कहा गया। लेकिन यह बात सच है कि कुदरती तौर पर ऐसे व्यक्ति की इच्छा न होने पर भी उसका अन्य स्त्री से संबंध बन जाता है। इसके अलावा शुक्र-मंगल का योग तीसरे घर में होकर उस व्यक्ति का धन उसके भाईयों के काम आता है। कहने का अर्थ यह है कि वह व्यक्ति अपने भाईयों को तारने वाला होता है। यानी उस धन को भाई जहाँ भी लगाएँगे वह वृद्धि को ही प्राप्त होगा, उस धन में बहुत बरकत होगी। हाँ, ये जरूर है कि-लाल किताब में ये जिक्र आता है कि - यदि दोनों ग्रहों को राहु या शनि देखें तो वह व्यक्ति अय्याश हो सकता है। यहाँ अय्याशी का अर्थ होगा-बुरी आदतें । जैसे- शराबखोरी, पर-स्त्रीगमन, जुआ आदि । वह अपने धन को नष्ट करने वाला होगा। यहाँ एक बात और भी देखने में आती है कि -
