यदि हम मेष लग्न की कालपुरुष कुंडली बनाएँ तो नौवें घर, अर्थात् भाग्यस्थान में बृहस्पति की धनु राशि आती है। और जन्म कुंडली में बृहस्पति ग्रह यदि शुभता लिए हुए है तो मेष लग्नवालों का भाग्य आमतौर पर अच्छा ही रहता है। एशिया के सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्योतिषी के अनुसार कुछ लोगों का मत है कि प्रथम भाव (लग्न) में बैठा हुआ मंगल औलाद के बारे में अच्छा फल नहीं देता। यह सच हो सकता है मगर फिर भी यह पूरा सच नहीं है। यदि हम गौर करें तो पाँचवें घर में सूर्य की राशि सिंह है जो औलाद के लिए अशुभ नहीं है। दूसरी ओर ग्यारहवाँ घर शनि की राशि का है तो शनि की राशि का कुछ बुरा प्रभाव सूर्य पर आ सकता है, लेकिन शनि की राशि का यह बुरा प्रभाव औलाद की बजाय पिता के साथ संबंध को लेकर बुरा हो सकता है। यानी उस अवस्था में पिता के साथ बहुत मधुर संबंध नहीं रहते और पिता से मिलने वाले सुख में कमी आती है। ज्योतिष के पुराने ग्रंथों की ओर ध्यान दें तो लग्न में बैठे हुए मंगल के फल को लेकर अनेक ग्रंथकारों के बीच बहुत मतभेद नजर आता है। पुराने समय के एक ज्योतिषविद् कल्याण वर्मा का कहना है कि लग्न में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति पराक्रमी और अभिमानी होता है तथा उसके चेहरे व शरीर को सुंदरता प्रदान कर देता है। लेकिन आर्य ग्रंथकार के अनुसार लग्न में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति कृष्ण वर्ण (साँवला) होता है। यह दोनों विचार यथार्थपूर्ण यानी सत्य हैं, क्योंकि लग्न का मंगल व्यक्ति को भरपूर पराक्रम, शारीरिक सुंदरता देने के साथ-साथ उसे अभिमानी भी बनाता है। मेष राशि में मंगल का होना एक तरह से इंसाफ की तलवार है। ऐसा व्यक्ति इंसाफ-पसंद होता है। वह अपनी पूरी शक्ति से नाइंसाफी के खिलाफ लड़ने वाला होता है। लग्न में मंगल होने को लाल किताब में अदल की तलवार कहा है अर्थात् इंसाफ की तलवार जो बेइंसाफी का सिर काट देगी। ऐसा व्यक्ति इस बात की परवाह नहीं करेगा कि उसका कितना नुकसान हो रहा है, किंतु वह किसी दूसरे पर जुल्म के खिलाफ जरूर लड़ेगा। अनेक प्राचीन ज्योतिषाचार्यों का मत है कि- लग्न में बैठा मंगल दाँतों के विकार देता है। खासतौर से यह मत आर्य ग्रंथाकार का है। लेकिन मेरे अपने अनुभव के अनुसार यह बात ठीक नहीं लगती। क्योंकि मंगल का दाँतों से कोई खास संबंध नहीं है। इसके विपरीत, लाल किताब के अनुसार मंगल अगर लग्न में मेष राशि का हो तो उस व्यक्ति के बत्तीस दाँत होंगे। हमारे परंपरागत विश्वास व सामुद्रिक ज्योतिष के अनुसार बत्तीस दाँत होना सच बोलने का प्रतीक है। लेकिन लाल किताब के अनुसार ऐसे व्यक्ति में शाप देने की शक्ति होगी। ऐसे व्यक्ति का दिया हुआ वरदान या सुवचन पूरा हो न हो किंतु उसका शाप या दुर्वचन अवश्य पूरा होता है। लए मत वाँ है, को हते को एक और है। पूर क्त होता की कि गा। कार के नहीं इस प्रकार हम देखते हैं कि- दाँतों की बीमारी का संबंध मंगल से जोड़ना बहुत अर्थपूर्ण नहीं लगता। हाँ, आर्यग्रंथ में पेट के रोग के बारे में अवश्य कहा गया है। अब पेट का घर छठा है; अगर हम मेष लग्न की काल-पुरुष कुंडली बनाएँ तो छठे घर में बुध मह की कन्या राशि आती है जो मंगल का शत्रु है। और यह षढ़ाष्टक योग भी है। अतः लग्न में मंगल होने से पेट की तकलीफ का होना तो मेरे अपने अनुभव में भी आया है। जहाँ तक मंगल के मेष लग्न में होने का सवाल है, इसमें बहुत-से ज्योतिषियों ने मेष लग्न में मंगल के होने को महत्व न देकर केवल लग्न में मंगल होने की बात की है। लेकिन यदि हम मेष लग्न को ही पहला भाव लेकर चलें तो मंगल के बहुत-से अवगुण वास्तव में नजर नहीं आएँगे। जैसे चेहरे पर चोट का निशान होना । लेकिन यह जरूरी नहीं है कि मंगल लग्न में होने से चेहरे पर व्रण का निशान हो ही। क्योंकि शुभ और शक्तिशाली मेष लग्न के मंगल का प्रभाव सातवें घर पर ज्यादा पड़ता है। इसीलिए पहले घर में मंगल होने से चेहरे या सिर पर व्रण के निशान के बजाय सातवें घर पर ज्यादा प्रभाव पड़ेगा। इसके बारे में पुराने ज्योतिषाचार्य नारायण भट्ट का विचार है कि-मंगल पहले घर में होने से स्त्री नाश होता है। अब 'स्त्री-नाश' जरूरत से ज्यादा सख्त शब्द है। इस ज्योतिषि ने मंगलीक दोष के इतने सारे दोषों की चर्चा की है जो सामान्यतः देखने में नहीं आते । यद्यपि, मंगलीक दोष होता अवश्य है। इसका कारण है कि सातवाँ घर अर्थात् शादी का घर, काल-पुरुष कुंडली में सातवाँ घर तुला राशि का है जो शुक्र की राशि है और शुक्र ही पति या पत्नी का कारक ग्रह है। लाल किताब के मुताबिक मैं शुक्र को ही पति या पत्नी दोनों का कारक लूँगा। सातवें घर पर मंगल की दृष्टि से कुछ हद तक पत्नी की सेहत पर कुछ बुरा प्रभाव जरूर रहता है और वैवाहिक जीवन के संपूर्ण सुख प्राप्ति में भी बाधा होती है, लेकिन स्त्री नाश ही हो या उसकी मृत्यु ही हो जाए यह बहुत जरूरी नहीं है। अपने शुभ स्थान पर बैठे मंगल के ऊपर इतना बड़ा इल्जाम लगाना, मेरे ख्याल से तो बेइंसाफी होगी। कुछ लोगों का विचार है कि- मेष लग्न में मंगल होने से वह व्यक्ति अपने दूसरे रिश्तेदारों-संबंधियों के साथ झगड़ता है और उनके साथ अच्छे संबंध नहीं रखता। लग्न में यदि मिथुन या कन्या राशि हो तो यह बात कुछ हद तक ठीक भी है, लेकिन मेष लग्न में मंगल होने से इस तरह का फल नहीं मिलता। इसी प्रकार कुछ लोग सोचते हैं कि पिता के साथ संबंध बहुत अच्छे नहीं रहेंगे, लेकिन यह विचार भी बहुत सच नहीं है। यदि हम ध्यान से देखें तो काल-पुरुष कुंडली में नौवें घर में बृहस्पति की राशि आती है और लाल किताब के अनुसार हम बृहस्पति को ही पिता का कारक लेंगे। हाँ, एक बात को समझ लेना आवश्यक है कि एक स्थिति में बृहस्पति पिता का कारक नहीं रहता, वह जबकि सूर्य-शनि एक साथ हों या सूर्य-शनि का आपस में सीधा दृष्टि-संबंध हो तो उस अवस्था में पिता का कारक सूर्य होगा। और दूसरी सभी स्थितियों में बृहस्पति को ही पिता का कारक माना जाएगा। अब मेष लग्न के लिए बृहस्पति की राशि नौवें घर में आती है और दूसरी राशि मीन बारहवें घर में आती है। इस तरह से यह बात साफ हो जाती है कि-पिता के साथ संबंध खराब नहीं होंगे क्योंकि मेष लग्न के लिए बृहस्पति की राशि भाग्य स्थान में आती है। जो बारहवीं राशि है मीन राशि, मंगल उससे धन स्थान में है यानी दूसरे भाव में। तो इस योग के फलस्वरूप जीवन में पिता से अधिक सहयोग मिलता रहता है। एक पुराने ज्योतिषी गोलक के मतानुसार मंगल का लग्न में होना व्यक्ति को दुष्ट अंतःकरण का बनाता है। यह व्यक्ति के अंतःकरण के लिए 'दुष्ट' शब्द बहुत सख्त है। इसमें सही बात को सही ढंग से नहीं कहा गया है। अगर आप ध्यान से देखें तो मेष लग्न के मंगल की चौथी दृष्टि कर्क राशि पर पड़ती है जो मंगल की नीच राशि है। चौथा घर हमारी मानसिक शांति से संबंध रखता है। मंगल द्वारा मानसिक शांति तो भंग हो सकती है, लेकिन वह व्यक्ति को दुष्ट ही बनाए यह जरूरी नहीं है। इसीलिए मेरे अपने विचार के अनुसार 'चमत्कार चिंतामणि' के लेखक श्री नारायण भट्ट का यह विचार बहुत ठीक लगता है कि- मेष लग्न में मंगल होने से आदमी को मानसिक दुःख रहता है। क्योंकि चौथा घर हमारी मानसिक शांति का है और काल-पुरुष कुंडली के अनुसार उसमें चंद्रमा की राशि कर्क आती है और मंगल की चौथी दृष्टि पड़ने से चंद्रमा पर इसका अशुभ प्रभाव पड़ता है। वैसे भी हम जानते हैं कि-चौथे घर में किसी भी राशि में मंगल हो उसे बहुत अच्छा नहीं समझा जाता। उसका कारण यही है कि-काल-पुरुष कुंडली के चौथे घर में चंद्रमा की राशि आती है और चंद्रमा मन का कारक ग्रह है और यहाँ पर मंगल की दृष्टि या मंगल के नीच होने से यह ग्रह बहुत अच्छा फल नहीं देता। दुष्ट अंतःकरण कहने की बजाय यह विचार ठीक है कि आदमी को मानसिक दुःख-सा रहता है। मन के अंदर एक प्रकार की बेचैनी-सी रहती है और कई बार वह इस बेचैनी के कारण को ढूँढ भी नहीं पाता । हमारे एक अन्य पुराने ज्योतिषि जागेश्वर का विचार है कि- मेष लग्न में मंगल होने से व्यक्ति शरीर से हट्टा-कट्टा होता है। यह निश्चय ही ठीक बात है। मंगल ग्रह जो परिपूर्ण शक्ति का कारक है और मेष राशि जो शक्ति की प्रतीक है - इन दोनों के योग से मेष लग्न में मंगल का होना, व्यक्ति को शारीरिक तौर पर मजबूत बनाता है। ऐसे आदमी का शरीर हट्टा-कट्टा व बलवान होगा ही। श्री जागेश्वर आगे अपना विचार प्रकट करते हैं कि उस व्यक्ति के शरीर में खून बहुत होता है। मंगल खून का कारक है। यह विचार सही है। हाँ, यहाँ पर मैं एक बात जरूर कहना चाहूँगा कि कई दफा लग्न में मंगल के साथ बुध हो या बुध सातवें घर में हो तो यह रक्तचाप व रक्त के रोगों का कारण भी बन जाता है। इसका कारण है कि - मंगल बुध के प्रभाव में आकर दूषित होने लगता है और हमारे शरीर का खून जो मंगल का कारक है तो बुध के संबंध से खून के रोग की संभावनाओं को बढ़ा देता है। एक प्राचीन ज्योतिषी गोपाल रत्नाकर का मत है कि-लग्न में मंगल होने से चोरी की प्रवृत्ति रहती है। मेरे विचार से चोरी की प्रवृत्ति मिथुन या कन्या लग्न में मंगल हो तब होती है, क्योंकि उस हालत में मंगल का शत्रु बुध है, और मिथुन या कन्या लग्न में मंगल अगर लग्न में हो तो और साथ-ही-साथ उसका बुध से संबंध बनता हो तब व्यक्ति में कुछ अंश तक थोड़ी-थोड़ी चोरी की प्रवृत्ति हो सकती है। मेरा अपना अनुभव है कि इसको चोरी की प्रवृत्ति के बजाय यह कहना ज्यादा ठीक है कि-मंगल का बुध से संबंध होने से वह व्यक्ति छोटी-छोटी बातों पर झूठ भी बोलता है। यानी चोरी की बजाय झूठ बोलने की प्रवृत्ति ज्यादा देखने में आती है। लाल किताब के अनुसार यदि मंगल पहले घर में हो तो उस व्यक्ति का साला उसके घर में साथ रहे तो उस व्यक्ति के भाई की सेहत के लिए मंगल बहुत बुरा असर देगा। वास्तव में सेहत ही नहीं कहनी चाहिए, आमतौर पर उस व्यक्ति के भाई के लिए, साले का साथ रहना अशुभ फल देता है। इसी तरह लग्न में मंगल वाले व्यक्ति का आम साधू के साथ रहना भी भाई के लिए अशुभ फल देगा। लेकिन लाल किताब में ही एक और बहुत ही रोचक बात है। वह यह कि-यदि वह व्यक्ति किसी ऐसे आदमी के साथ काम करे जो उम्र में उस व्यक्ति के बराबर का हो और कोई रिश्तेदार भी हो तो उसका शुभ फल मिलता है। इसी तरह से बराबर का भतीजा हो, चाचा हो तो उस अवस्था में उस व्यक्ति को हमेशा लाभ रहेगा। लग्न में मंगल वाला व्यक्ति अपने भाईयों को तारने वाला होता है। भाई चाहे छोटे हों, चाहे बड़े हों। पुराने ज्योतिषियों के अनुसार मेष लग्न में मंगल होने से भूख बहुत लगती है। ऐसा आदमी बहुत खानेवाला हो सकता है। यह निश्चय ही ठीक बात है। इसका कारण यह है कि-मेष लग्न के लिए पाँचवाँ घर सूर्य की राशि कां है और पाँचवें घर का भी संबंध पेट से है। यहाँ सूर्य की राशि सिंह अग्नि की कारक है और लग्न का मंगल अपने आप में अग्नि ही है। इसलिए ऐसा आदमी जो कुछ भी खाएगा उसे जल्दी हजम कर लेगा। अतः हम कह सकते हैं कि ऐसे व्यक्ति की पाचन शक्ति (जठराग्नि) बहुत अच्छी होगी। ऐसे व्यक्ति को बार-बार भूख लगेगी और उसका मन थोड़ी-थोड़ी देर बाद कुछ-न-कुछ खाने को करता रहेगा। हिल्लाजातक ज्योतिष ग्रंथ के अनुसार यदि मेष लग्न में मंगल हो तो उस व्यक्ति की पाँच वर्ष तक की आयु तक संकट की संभावना रहती है। संकट से अर्थ है; किसी बीमारी से ग्रसित होने या किसी तरह की चोट लगना। मेरे विचारानुसार पाँचवें वर्ष में ऐसा होना संभव नहीं। ये संकट उसकी आठ वर्ष की आयु में आता है। इसका कारण यह है कि-मेष लग्न के लिए आठवें घर में वृश्चिक राशि आती है और आठवाँ घर लग्न से अष्टम स्थान है जहाँ मंगल की दृष्टि पड़ती है। बेशक मंगल की आठवीं दृष्टि अपनी राशि वृश्चिक पर ही पड़ती है किंतु यहाँ पर मेष और वृश्चिक राशियाँ षष्टांग हो जाती हैं। इसलिए उम्र के आठवें वर्ष में संकट आने की आशंका हो सकती है। हम सभी जानते हैं कि-मंगल ग्रह को भाई का कारक माना है। लग्न में मंगल होने से लाल किताब के अनुसार वह व्यक्ति या तो अपने भाईयों में सबसे बड़ा भाई होगा और यदि उसके छोटे भाई भी हैं तो लग्न में मंगल वाले भाई को मृत्यु भाईयों में सबसे बाद में होती है। शेष राशि में लग्न में मंगल होने से आमतौर पर उसके भाई होंगे ही, वह कभी अकेला नहीं होगा। मेष लग्न में मंगल के साथ बृहस्पति का होना व्यक्ति की आंतरिक (अंदरूनी) शक्ति को और भी शक्तिशाली बनाता है। मेष राशि में बृहस्पति-मंगल एक साथ हो तो आमतौर पर वह व्यक्ति पैसे के लिहाज से जीवन में अच्छा रहता है। किंतु लाल किताब के अनुसार यदि मंगल और बृहस्पति दोनों लग्न में हो और बुध सातवें घर में मौजूद हो तो दोनों के फल को बहुत हद तक कम या नष्ट कर देता है। मेष लग्न में मंगल और सूर्य जब प्रथम भाव में हों तो दोनों का फल बहुत शुभ हो जाता है, क्योंकि यहाँ पर सूर्य उच्च राशि में है और मंगल स्वमही है। ऐसा व्यक्ति अपनी सामाजिक स्थिति के अनुसार समाज में सम्मान प्राप्त करता है मेष लग्न में मंगल के साथ चंद्र भी बैठा हो तो वह मंगल के फल को और भी शुभ कर देता है। यहाँ पर यदि बुध सातवें घर में हो तो दोनों ग्रहों पर किसी तरह का अशुभ असर नहीं पड़ता । क्योंकि लाल किताब के अनुसार चंद्र और बुध आपस में माँ और बेटा हैं रिश्ते के अनुसार। यदि दोनों को बुध देखे तो आदमी की बुद्धि और तीक्ष्ण हो जाती है और वहाँ व्यक्ति एक सफल व्यापारी बन सकता है। मेष लग्न में मंगल और शुक्र के योग को हमारे सभी प्राचीन ग्रंथों में अशुभ फल देने वाला कहा गया है। लेकिन लाल किताब के अनुसार शुक्र और मंगल के इकड्डे होने को मीठा अनार कहा गया है। इससे परिवार के सुख में कोई कमी नहीं आती। हाँ, ये बात और है यदि दोनों को दृष्टि के हिसाब से राहु या केतु देखें तो व्यक्ति पर कोई न कोई मुसीबत अवश्य आती है। यदि ऐसी कुंडली में सूर्य-शनि भी एक साथ हों तो उस व्यक्ति की औरत को आग से हानि का डर रहता है या किसी प्रकार की बीमारी भी लग सकती है । मोटे तौर पर पत्नी की सेहत के लिए बुरा असर पड़ सकता है। मेष लग्न में मंगल-शनि एक साथ हों तो मंगल के फल को और भी शुभ कर देता है। इसका कारण यह है कि मंगल की अथाह शक्ति में शनि की समझ मिल जाती है जिससे मंगल की शक्ति को ठीक तरह का मार्गदर्शन मिल जाता है। लाल किताब के अनुसार मंगल और शनि यदि लग्न में हों तो इन दोनों महों का नेक फल तब शुरू होता है जब व्यक्ति जीवन में पहली दफा अपनी आजीविका के लिए काम करना शुरू करता है। इस योग का ससुराल वालों पर अच्छा असर पड़ता है। पहले की तुलना में उनकी आर्थिक हालत और भी अच्छी हो जाती है। ऐसे व्यक्ति के लिए सफर के कारोबार या सफर संबंधी चीजों के काम काफी हद तक शुभ फल देते हैं। मेष लग्न में मंगल-बुध के एक साथ होने से व्यक्ति को जीवन में इन महों का मिला-जुला प्रभाव मिलता है। हाँ, एक बात प्रत्यक्ष तौर पर देखी जाती है कि वह व्यक्ति औरत के खानदान पर शुभ असर डालने वाला होता है। कई बार वह अपने पैसे का कुछ हिस्सा उन लोगों को मदद के रूप में देता है। मेष लग्न में मंगल-राहु होने से आमतौर पर अशुभ समझा जाता है। मेरे विचार से यह ग्रह योग सातवें यानी विवाह के घर पर तो कुछ अशुभ असर डाल सकता है किंतु उस व्यक्ति के अपने लिए यह बहुत शुभ असर डालता है। लाल किताब में मंगल-राहु का एक साथ होने को 'राजा की गिनती का आदमी' कहा गया है। लाल किताब के उसूल के अनुसार राहु हाथी है और मंगल-राहु एक साथ हों तो इसको 'शाही सवारी का हाथी' कहा गया है। इसका कारण यह है कि मंगल साथ होने से राहु कोई शरारत नहीं कर सकता। लग्न में अकेला बैठा हुआ राहु 'सीढ़ियां चढ़ता हुआ हाथी' यानी दौलतमंद होने की निशानी कहा है। मूल रूप से इस योग के अंतर्गत राहु के बुरे फल कम हो जाते हैं और आर्थिक तौर पर इन दोनों ग्रहों का योग शुभता को बढ़ाने वाला कहलाता है। मेष लग्न में मंगल-केतु का योग एक अशुभ योग है। ऐसे व्यक्ति के अंतःकरण में एक प्रकार का आत्मद्वंद्व रहता है। लाल किताब के अनुसार मंगल और केतु के एक साथ होने को शेर और कुत्ते की लड़ाई कहा गया है। इस प्रकार यह योग समय-समय पर जीवन में अस्थिरता लानेवाला होता है। इसके अलावा ऐसा व्यक्ति कई तरह के झंझटों से व्यर्थ ही घिरा रहता है। यह योग
